20.01.2022 Brisbane City Council recently released Brisbane’s Future Blueprint: Eight principles and 40 actions to guide our city’s next exciting chapter. The document was the result of requests for feedback from Brisbane Residents. The document is relatively broad ranging however many of the principles and actions are directly relevant to the development sector, including, for example, proposed increases to deep planting areas on development sites. Anecdotally, we are currently seeing and hearing of examples of Council being significantly less lenient in relation to the consideration of performance based responses, in particular in relation to relaxations from code requirements for setbacks and height, even when of a minor nature. 19.01.2022 Bellbowrie pre-sale external upgrade We were requested to review and upgrade the external areas of a Bellbowrie home, taking into consideration the planned sale of the property. The pool area was dilapidated and non-compliant. We developed a strategy to cost-effectively add value to the property while addressing compliance issues, and retaining existing structure where possible.
