23.01.2022 APPRECIATION POST.... Over the past few months I have been contemplating whether Veterans Retreat is something I can continue or not as the sheer time and energy it takes out of me has been overwhelming and and sometimes it’s just been all too much for me what keeps me going is not wanting another veteran to suffer and at times this has been to the detriment of my own health. The speed in which this has grown and the reach it has achieved in such a short period of time I k...now is part of this feeling, the cart has been put well before the horse and I’ve just been holding on for dear life. Just recently a few of the most amazing volunteers have come into my space and taken a great deal of pressure away from me and I can see this side of the charity building, which has reignited some hope that this is sustainable, with help, as it is way too big for a #onewomanshow I would like to take the time right now to acknowledge those people and say a massive thank you!! I also must apologise for not posting about this earlier......but a huge shout out to the massive effort from Clinton and Kelli (and all the helpers) for running a Bunnings sausage sizzle at Noosaville on Boxing Day with volunteers pulling out on the day and numerous other challenges (I know after running the Gympie Bunnings sausage sizzle the mammoth effort this takes and how destroyed you are at the end of the day) I am so grateful and all of these funds will be put towards upcoming events in 2021. 22.01.2022 Hey everyone I’m going to be taking a much needed break from social media this weekend, I know a lot of people are out there feeling deeply about what is happening right now and I am no different. There has been 10 suicides in 3 weeks I am aware of, widespread media coverage of our SASR brothers raising people’s emotions, Remembrance Day feels and everything in between. In the end it doesn’t matter the reason, I just don’t feel I can maintain my own well-being and stay grou...nded seeing it all the time. To be honest the only reason I’m on social media so much is for you guys, but you know I love you all and #youarenotalone There are a number of resources out there that can help so please reach out before you are on the edge!! 03.01.2022 So yesterday white no 10, our first ever black face Suffolk we bought and named Jazzy, gave birth to a very big healthy boy One lucky family was here camping and got to witness the entire event including Kate (welcome to the farm and sheep life ) assisting with the birth after poor mumma couldn’t get the big boy out. On the phone was Juanita from Serendipity Farm Animal Centre Inc guiding us through the process to ensure the best outcome for mum and baby. Seriously have... called on her so many times since being here and am so grateful for her constant advice and support. Because I can’t post video and photos together in the comments is an amazing painting from one of the three girls who watched it live so glad we got to share this with them.
