25.01.2022 It’s Clara! I’m a Border Collie and I love my zoomies. The adrenaline when I run is so fun, and it’s so good to impress my Mum and Dad. Nice to meet you all. - Clara

25.01.2022 Farrah here one last time! There’s never a day without admiring looks, so take a glimpse into the day in the life of me. Another day, another trip to the dog park. As I lay here in the warm sun, resting from my run, I look over at all the other dogs and their humans admiring me and my sister. I can’t blame them when we look this good. I chase my sister often at the park but every time we stop to rest a human comes over and strokes our long hair. I don’t mind it, but not every... time! When we run around sometimes the other, smaller dogs try to join in our race and attempt to keep up. It’s funny to watch, they never do. Our legs are simply too big. Mum and dad like taking us out to explore, and we love it too. Any chance I can go out and stretch my legs and let the wind brush through my hair I’ll take! Speaking about my hair, let me bother Dad to brush it. Both mum and dad make sure we get brushed at least twice a day. There’s a reason I’m looking this good! Now look at all the admirers casting their eyes at us - Farrah

24.01.2022 Ever wondered how I spend my day? Here’s a great glimpse I huff, and I puff. Do you think mum noticed? Her friend is always talking non-stop out the front of our house making me wait for my daily walk. I just want to follow my nose and sniff my way around the big bushes and see where my friends have been with their owners. It’s time to go on an adventure mum! Although I must admit, mum’s friend is great at giving me hugs and pats. Every time she sees me, she’s always amazed ...at how big and fluffy I am. I lean into her as she strokes my fur, wag my tail, and lick her hands. What better way to show my affection back! After pats I tug on the lead to let mum knows it’s time to go, we have much more important things to do. Finally! Off we go, down the hill past our neighbours to the river. So many people, dogs and smells to take in. We walk past other dogs on their leads as we briskly stroll past the river. Every dog we pass ends looking up to me. There are hardly ever any dogs of my size, I hope they’re not intimidated though. I know my fur and bear-like features make me much cuddlier and friendly looking to their owners. I must stop and smell as much as I can, but as soon as mum says it’s time to go I obey. Mum always knows best. As we head back up the hill back home my tummy begins to rumble. I must remind mum it’s food time as soon as we walk in the house. Once she unlocks the door I run off straight to my food bowl waiting patiently for it to fill up to the brim with food. Mum and I worked up a sweat today! Time to dig in. - Zoey

22.01.2022 A great tip from our friends at Lort Smith!
21.01.2022 Me down here! I may be small, but I won’t let you forget me. My name is Leo and I’m an Affenpinscher. My favourite thing to do after playing with my toys is sitting on the couch with my Mum, snacking on a few treats. Sounds good doesn’t it?! - Leo

18.01.2022 Time to live a day in the life of a very happy Beagle (hint: a day in the life of me, Lola ) I stop, nose pointed to the sky and close my eyes. What is that? Is it a bird? Another dog? Something to roll in? I sniff again and again, determined to catch the smell of the wind again. Sniff, sniff, sniff, there it is! I drop my head low darting my nose left and right along the ground as I follow the scent off the footpath and into the scrub. I must locate the source.... ‘Lola, get back here!’ I ignore the call, too absorbed in What is it? I think it’s another dog. I dart beneath a bush, pushing through the brambles and leaves to follow the exact trail as the mystery scent. I can hear my owner yelling in the distance behind, but there’s no time. My front legs are through and I flatten my ears to my head, avoiding the jabbing sticks. Finally, my whole body is through and the bush opens into a mini clearing. Oh no, the smell. It’s gone! I sniff deeply and dart back and forth in the clearing to catch it again. I dart to the right and Oh! Who is this? Their fur is orange, and the tail puffy. It looks like a dog, but they smell different. I approach the stranger cautiously, and they slink back and yell. This is not the sound of a dog?! Hold on, is that a And then I’m flying, grabbed my human by the scruff of the neck they pull me out of the bush towards them. ‘Have you finished?’ How polite of my owner to ask. My human makes me sit, and clips the can’t-go-far thingy to my neck and we head back onto the footpath. Tomorrow, I’ll have to find the red fluffy friend again. - Lola

17.01.2022 Hi everyone, it’s Lola the Beagle! You can see me here running as fast as I can to greet my friends at the dog park. If there’s anything I love more than my parents it’s my friends at the park. - Lola
14.01.2022 At Vets Choice, it’s our mission to help Australian pets receive the care they deserve. And recently our team was able to help Sandra and her 18-month Cavoodle Ide. And we’d love to share this good news story of how Ide was able to receive the treatment she needed at a time when bushfires caused her town to go into lockdown. On 23rd November 2019, Ide went to jump onto Sandra’s lap, who was sitting on the lounge, but didn’t quite make it. She fell after misjudging her jump ...and hurt both back legs. Ide needed major surgery to be completed in four stages. However, with the lockdown, Sandra would need to travel four hours to Sydney to get the care Ide needed. 14.01.2022 I’m big and fluffy, but love hugs and pats. Any guesses to what breed I am? I’m Zoey the Bernese Mountain Dog. I hope you’re all ready to get to know me and my breed a bit more! - Zoey
14.01.2022 I get so excited when my humans give me a pat or hug, and really love to play around. Hi, I’m Sadie the Dalmatian. Does anyone here also have a Dalmatian like me? - Sadie

08.01.2022 Spring has sprung and so too have fleas, ticks and other warm-weather skin irritators. As it warms up, your pet will naturally spend more time outside, which means more contact with these parasites and more exposure to other skin allergens. Read more about preparing for flea and tick season. #petcare

07.01.2022 If I just sit here really still Mum won’t noticeright? - Lola
07.01.2022 Leo here, ready to share with you the best things that could possibly happen in my life. Enjoy I walk over to the big fluffy chair that my mum always sits on at night. She’s not there yet. She must be sleeping. There’s no time for that! I scurry over to her room, but the door is shut. She must know it’s time for a play. I need to get her up, she’s missing out. I’m missing out. I jump up and down, scratching her door. Surely, she’ll hear me, surely, she can’t resist play tim...e. Finally, I hear movement, a big yawn, and footsteps coming toward me. It’s show time! I can’t contain my excitement and start doing my little dance, my tail wagging and all. ‘Leo you big ball of energy, let’s get you some food’ my Mum says. Did I hear food! Time to eat, but I must finish it quickly so there’s more time for play. Hurry up Mum. I quickly finish eating and sprint toward Mum on her couch with my ball. A big leap up and I’m on her lap. Another big jump back down and I run off to find my special ball. The quicker I do it, the more I can play - Leo
04.01.2022 Here’s a great story about one of my favourite days at the beach! The cooling sea air ripples through my fur, sending my floppy spotted ears aflutter. Paws perched on the edge of the floating vessel, I bend forward to marvel at the large body of water beneath us. ‘Hey! Sadie, get down from there!’ A human who is not mine barks the order at me, but I still obey and jump, my paws landing back on the deck.... ‘Relax, mate, Sadie won’t jump overboard, she knows what the ocean is. So that’s what they call it! The irresistible flurry of new sounds and smells pull me right back and I peer over the side of the boat again, hoping the other human doesn’t see. I spy movement beneath the water. A dark shadow looms, and I look to my human’s children behind me what if it’s a bad thing in there? What if it comes for the human puppies?! Before I can sound the alarm, I see a shiny grey form leap from the water into the air. It makes the strangest squeaking noise I’ve ever heard! ‘Woof,’ I respond, then run towards the squealing, pointing young humans. I look back to the weird grey thing and now there’s three of them jumping out of the water, over and over again. I realise they’re not coming onto the deck and steady myself, although I stay near the children to keep them safe. My older human, chuckling, says ‘What a good girl, protecting the kids from the dolphins! You were trying to let us know they were there, weren’t you?’. I tilt my head, knowing full well I had no idea the dolphins were coming. But sure, I’ll take credit for that! The young ones are safe, and that’s what matters. - Sadie
04.01.2022 It’s not every minute of the day I’m running around like crazy. Here’s a day in the life of me, Clara. The low rumble catches in my pricked ears. Is it? Could it be? Is that the sound of a closing car door? The jangling of keys in the door? IT IS! I drop the gnawed frisbee and bolt to the back door. Time slows as I pounce up and down at the glass sliding door. My owner slides the door open, pops their bag down and take off their foot covers. Come ON! There’s no time to wait! ...A quick head pat is all they can manage before I loop off in a job to show them where the food is. What if they’ve forgotten? I’m always happy to help. Round and round I go, playfully nipping at my humans toes to show them where to go. They’re almost there! ‘Clara, slow down!’ I bound around my person, My nails sliding and clattering on the floorboards. I lose my footing and oof! Straight into the fridge. It doesn’t matter though because finally the person is at the food! They scoop it up from the bin and plop it down in front of me, and I happily lap it up. With a full belly I finally waddle out of the kitchen to greet my owner properly, kisses and all. My humans had a big long day, and they're full of smells that I must take in. My nose dances up their leg, following the scent of spaghetti up to their hand which I lick. My human moves to their bed and I jog next to them, watching their face intently. Time for the brushing and pats, and cuddles in the bed. - Clara
