15.01.2022 Happy Hump Day everyone. At Victoria Park Physiotherapy we work with an array of different patients participating in amazing feats of athleticism. From Iron Man Marathons participants to Cape to Cape trekkers for charity. Today we introduce you to one of our young athletes Ethan. Ethan is doing amazing things on the local and international circuit. But I'll let Ethan tell you about it "Hi my name is Ethan Calleja, and I am the first male to represent Australia in Artistic ...Swimming, formally known as Synchronised Swimming. I have just had the great pleasure of competing at the 2019 FINA World Championships, in which I competed in the Mixed Duet event with my training partner, where we secured the 11th place spot, becoming only the second Australian team to ever qualify for a World Championship final. I also made my international debut in Beijing, China this year, putting Australia on the world stage for Mixed Duets. I was originally a swimmer in which I had a career that spanned over 13 years, taking me all over the country for many years. I was given the opportunity to start synchro in January of 2018, and I have been training over 20 hours a week ever since that point. I have been working with Vic Park physio for over 3 years, and their incredible practice has assisted me in maintaining a physically ready body so I can compete to the best of my ability. Working with Robin and John has helped me develop exercises and strength programs to help with injuries and maintain stability. They have been there through my journey moving from one sport to another and have adapted to all the new training needs. Without this support i would have never achieved the success over the past couple of years." What a story! Nice to meet you Ethan. Such artistry and athleticism in these photos. We have so many amazing patients we are going to be showcasing over the next few months doing amazing things in sports, for charity and more. Don't forget to like and share Ethan's amazing story!
