24.01.2022 A dramatic job for SES Winchelsea Unit today, with a postal worker luckily out of her vehicle when a branch smashed straight through the windscreen. 24.01.2022 As at 10:30am (Saturday) weve received over 3,100 requests for assistance since the storm hit late on Thursday. Our SES volunteers alongside our parter agencies have now cleared 95% of those jobs and were working through the remaining 150 or so as quickly as possible today. 14.01.2022 Among the thousands of jobs that our volunteers have been called to in the past 24 hours, SES Malvern Unit responded to a large tree that had blocked the staff car park at the Epworth Hospital in Richmond. The team worked hard and fast to clear the way, allowing our incredible healthcare workers access to get home safely for some well deserved rest.

A trough is crossing Victoria today with a low moving southeast across Bass Strait. A high pressure system is moving over the Bight to extend a ridge over the southwest tonight. In the 24 hours to 11:00 am, widespread rainfall totals of 20-40 mm have been recorded on the elevated parts of the flood watch area, with some higher totals up to 85 mm.
