24.01.2022 Morning everyone! Apologies for the absence. Adjusting to this quarantine schedule or should I say, not schedule can throw a spanner in the works some days. I just took part this morning in Kendo World's - Virtual Keiko session with Alex Bennett Sensei (7th Dan) streaming from Tokyo/Japan. My word it was intense! Over an hour of hard-core suburi, bokuto kata, nihon kata, and even some real-time jigeiko! ... Really enjoyed it! Almost like doing real keiko again! I highly recommend you check out the next Zoom sessions. The classes are free and the link to the next sessions are listed on the Patreon link below. https://www.patreon.com/kendoworld Take care and stay safe!

22.01.2022 Thanks to Sharon, Kim and Cheng joining our first suburi live-stream tonight! We had a lot of fun participating together, like old times in the dojo! Also thanks to my neighbours complaints of my fumikomi for telling me it's too loud. At least I know it's effective! There's other live streams happening around the Kendo hood. Hope to join up with them at some stage too. In the meantime stay safe and well and stay strong and Kendo-on!

19.01.2022 Had a fun day promoting VUKC's upcoming intro course at the Summer 'O Fest at Victoria University. Many thanks to Kim for helping out at our table and for producing/designing the flyers and posters.

17.01.2022 Looking for more social suburi online? Lambrate Kendo Club's 10th live suburi stream this Sunday 31st of May at 6:25pm. I've participated in these energetic sessions that usually have over 130 international guests with a surprise Sensei to lead the workouts. Please feel free to sign up to this event below for access to the Zoom link.... Stay well, stay safe!

16.01.2022 Over the weekend I had the opportunity to participate in The Canadian Kendo Federation's International Kendo Seminar. They had a massive turnout with over 200+ participants online using Zoom! They had the likes of Kiwada Sensei, Taro Ariga Sensei, Makiko Ara Sensei, Matthew Raymond Sensei, Kenji Toida Sensei and Shigemitsu Kamata Sensei running various workshops and talks. I learned heaps of new things and made some new international friends. It was great to talk with Ke...ndoka around the world are dealing with the pandemic and how they're adapting their training and teaching methods. Hopefully this will encourage more International or local Kendo Federations to organise more seminars like this one.

15.01.2022 Great to be back in our dojo space at Victoria University and to be movin' da body again! Thanks guys!

12.01.2022 Hello everyone! Good news VUKC is back in action on the dojo floor! We'll be doing limited Kendo classes with club members in December. Officially we'll return on January 4th 2021. Please follow the current VU Sport Covid Safe guidelines below when attending training.... Great to be back!

12.01.2022 Greetings fellow members and visitors, As a preventive measure VUKC will suspend all Kendo training at Victoria University Footscray Campus today for at least a month until further notice. We've been following the Coronavirus situation closely with the Victorian and Australian Kendo Renmei senior members. These organisations have already taken the appropriate safety measures to cancel major Kendo related events such as gradings and local/national competition events over the n...ext month or so. Other local and state Kendo clubs are also taking a monthly hiatus as a preventive measure. For now, it's important VUKC does the same. We'll continue to monitor the situation closely as to when it's safe for training to return. Please stay healthy and safe during this time. Take care and look after yourselves out there.
