23.01.2022 THE DRY BAR | They have their roots in the 70s but the dried flower trend has made a big comeback in recent years. We thought wed answer some of the frequently asked questions we get about Everlasting Flowers. . WHAT IS AN EVERLASTING FLOWER? Its a real flower that has gone through either a drying or preserving process. These processes can take many months hence everlasting flowers tend to cost more per stem than fresh blooms. . WILL THEY REALLY LAST FOREVER? There are ...no guarantees, but with good care they should last for years!!! Keeping them out of direct sunlight and intense heating/cooling will help and just give them a gentle dust as needed! . DO THEY FADE? Yes overtime blooms will fade ever so slightly. Some of our dried bar has been dyed in the preserving process, these colours will soften overtime. Keeping your arrangement away from direct sunlight will help them keep their colour for longer. . HOW MUCH DO I NEED TO SPEND ON A DRY ARRANGEMENT? Just like our fresh blooms, we work with your budget...whether youre spending $20 or $200 you can expect your Victoria Hall flowers to be carefully created and beautifully presented. As we mentioned, everlasting flowers can be a bit more pricey due to their lengthy drying and preserving process, so we usually recommend adding on about $15-25 to get an equivalent volume of blooms to a fresh flower bouquet. . ARE THEY A PASSING TREND? Weve been seeing them in the wedding and retail space for a couple of years now, but they were still on most 2020 interior and wedding trend lists (before Covid shut down weddings that is!) We think one of the key reasons the trend is still going strong is an industry move towards sustainability and ethical floristry. Keeping waste low and finding innovative ways to create floral art is high on the agenda - which is a great thing! . Are you an everlasting flower lover or is Fresh your jam? . . . . . . #victoriahallemporium #flowersbyvictoriahall #gippslandflorist #floristsofinstagram #everlastingflowers #driedflowers See more

20.01.2022 HAMPTONS | the Hamptons look is inspired by the holiday homes of the rich and famous in luxury seaside towns in upstate New York. The style is defined by classic, calm and sophisticated interiors, with an emphasis on indoor-outdoor living and spaces for entertaining guests. Sometimes referred to as Coastal-Luxe, Hamptons is all about bringing together the sophisticated and the casual. A great example of this is the use of luxury materials like marble paired with linen fabri...cs. Some of the architectural features of a Hamptons home include: * Weatherboard or mixed timber and stone exteriors * Shaker style cabinetry * Wainscoting and coffered ceilings * Large windows with good indoor, outdoor flow * Balconies and alfresco zones * Built in cabinetry such as library walls Symmetry plays a big role in this design style. Youll often see two large ceramic based lamps anchoring each corner of a console table or a large grid style gallery wall. Some interior features of a Hamptons home include: * White on white on white! * Large, comfortable sofas in linen fabric to anchor living spaces * Plain and print cushions in tones of blue, white and taupe. Accents such as piped edges or tassels also add interest in soft furnishings * Marble benches, shaker cabinets and nickel hardware in kitchens and bathrooms * Ceramic lamps, ginger jars and square art prints will add drama * Decorative items such as coral, potted phalaenopsis orchids, stacks of beautiful coffee table books and subtle scented candles help to pull the look together Get the look locally: * The team @legendhomes_ have just released a beautiful Hamptons style display home for you to get inspired! * Check out some of the stunning kitchen work by @designercabinetry * Have a beautiful gallery wall put together by @framingelegance01 * Dreamy linen sheers from @inside_out_window_furnishings * And of course, chat to our team and we can help you pull together your styling and decor items!

18.01.2022 If you follow along on our stories youd know we have made the decision to close our doors during this next restriction period. This isnt something we do lightly. But for us and our team we feel its the right call. I am super proud to employ a group of incredible women whos creativity and talent inspire me everyday. Along with our passion for everything floral and interior, we are also raising 6 little people at home and right now they need us there! BUT, it wont all be... lattes and skinned knees. We have a heap of really exciting things we have been quietly working on behind the scenes and we are excited to start unveiling some of that over the next few weeks. We will also be in store (behind closed doors) doing training, developing new products, preparing to launch two new segments of the business and prepping for Christmas ()!!! Although we will not be offering fresh flowers during this time our team will be on hand each Thursday and are happy to arrange complementary delivery or click and collect for any homewares, candles, baby products and T2. Just give us a call in store on Thursdays, shoot us a DM or shop the website anytime. We are open tomorrow until 3pm for any last minute purchases. Thank you for your ongoing support and we cant wait to see you soon

17.01.2022 Ok, let's get right to the nitty gritty: how much do wedding flowers cost? We will say straight up, there is SO much variability when it comes to pricing wedding flowers. Factors such as seasonality, flower variety and the size of instalments will all alter the cost. But from our experience and industry guidelines here is some help to get you started: * On average couples should allocate 10-15% of your total budget to your flowers. If you... plan on hiring a stylist or you would like florals to be a major component of your day we recommend allocating closer to 25-35% of your budget. * Most couples will spend between $3,000 and $10,000 on their wedding flowers for a wedding of 100+ guests. * That said...it is YOUR day. Have a really honest chat about how important fresh flowers are to you and work from there. Also think about your venue and what is needed to maximise that space. * The best way to get value from your blooms is to consider options for repurposing them through the day. For example, invest in a statement ceremony backdrop (it is 100% worth it!) and then have your team move it to be the centrepiece of your cocktail reception, or an amazing statement on your bridal table. * There is an industry standard for pricing wedding flowers. Florists are free to quote outside of these guidelines, however from our experience with our industry friends, we believe most florists use a similar formula. If you are comparing quotes that are very different keep in mind things such as a different interpretation of your inspiration pictures or your florists preference for certain varieties of flowers will impact your quote. There is also a big difference in the price and quality (and impact) of premium flowers! You absolutely get what you pay for! Check out our Wedding Budget Guide on our website for more help with costing your blooms! Link in bio See more

17.01.2022 We spent the day chatting to brides about their weddings and one thing is for sure, Covid is the bridesmaid you didnt want...or maybe its the Great-Aunt who arrives late, tipsy and wearing white ! Either way, planning your nuptials at the moment is a challenging task for sure! A lot of Covid couples feel like they have to give up a lot right now. And if you feel like youre having to compromise to the point that your day no longer reflects you, then postponing is absolu...tely the right choice. But you may also feel like stripping the layers back has enabled you to really focus on the things that are important to you as a couple! There is a lot of "noise" when it comes to weddings, sometimes the exercise of honing in on your true values is empowering! Perhaps with a smaller guest list you can afford the local degustation menu, or the champagne tower, or the three dress changes When Laura and Kal got married it was on top of a private cliff overlooking their beloved ocean in front of just 20 guests. Beautiful! 17.01.2022 ***FAQ*** "I don't know a rose from an orchid so where do I even begin planning out my wedding flowers? I don't want to look silly!" Firstly, there is no such thing as a silly question. The thing is you don't need to know the difference between a rose and an orchid...because we sure do! Your floral team should be a safe place to plan out a day that truely captures the essence of YOU! So just bring your love story, a couple of inspo pics,... an open mind and lets get planning! TIP: If you are struggling to even find inspiration pictures, or there is no consistency in the styles you are drawn to: have a think about how you want your day to FEEL. Are you after a relaxed, family vibe? Or perhaps a luxe and sophisticated affair? Or maybe you are sick of boring events and you just want to throw out the rule book and its all about serious party vibes! From there it is so much easier to start building ideas. You can find heaps of helpful info under the 'Weddings' tab on our website. Image by @hannahgilbert_photographer See more
