On the back end of a global pandemic, support and awareness for mental health is more important than ever, and we hope this round provides an avenue for all members inside and outside of basketball to prioritise their wellbeing. We urge all players, coaches, clubs and the community to get on board with this initiative in 2021, and be involved in something that is set to make history.

08.01.2022 The Victorian Government, on advice from the Department of Health, has further eased restrictions from the circuit-breaker lockdown for Greater Melbourne and Regional Victoria, with these measures starting from Thursday 10 June at 11.59pm. Unfortunately, there is some confusion with the detail of the restrictions released today, specifically for community indoor sport in Regional Victoria. We have been in close communication with Sport and Recreation Victoria (SRV) and what... we do know is: Metropolitan Melbourne: unfortunately, there is no indoor sport until the next announcement for easing restrictions. Organised outdoor community sport is permitted for children (those who wish to commit to outdoor games for ages 18 and under), with adults restricted to training only. Outdoor activity is restricted to a maximum of 10 people per group. Density quotient of 1 person per 4sqm applies. Regional Victoria: is open for all ages training and competition, however we need further clarity on the number allowed indoors for each venue. We will be receiving detailed Restricted Activity Directions overnight and will provide a further update tomorrow. Head to our website for further information: bit.ly/BVRTSUpdate

07.01.2022 The announcement on Monday 26 October by the Victorian Government is good news for a step towards a COVID-Normal life for Victorians and some easing of restrictions for basketball across Victoria. 06.01.2022 #VJBL21 VENUE ATTENDANCE UPDATE Ahead of Round 1 of the Victorian Junior Basketball League this Friday, Basketball Victoria would like to update parents and patrons attending about venue attendance. With current Victorian Government COVID-19 restrictions still in place for patron numbers per venue, we recommend that only one adult/parent/guardian attends the venue with each player, as the capacity at each venue is different. This is to avoid disappointment if additional patrons or spectators are knocked back at the door. We also advise that teams leave the venue directly after the game to avoid unnecessary contact with teams playing after your child’s game. If you have any specific venue questions please contact your association.
