If hunters have been limited to w...ithin 5km of thier home, then so should these protestors. Unless the minister would like to add hunting as a permitted reason to travel outside of the 5km limit, protestors should be limited too. 23.01.2022 People we’ve had confirmation that the combined Club Hunt/Hunters Education Course, will take place on 31st July to 2nd August. Club events are open to financial members only. If you wish to see what the VDA are all about come down to one our monthly meetings... (Socially distanced meetings restarting July and is looking good to go ahead, details to follow)

21.01.2022 With an unprecedented 2020 the VDA committee believes we have been unable to adequately provide value to our members and a decision has been made to roll the 2020 membership over to 2021. There are quite a few members who had not paid for the 2020 year and we ask that you please pay as soon as you are able, the usual late fee will be waived. 19.01.2022 Firearm and Ammunition Sales - Lifting of restrictions update for Victoria - On Monday May 11 2020, the Victorian Government provided an update regarding the current COVID-19 restrictions and have allowed some outdoor recreational activities to take place whilst maintaining social distancing.... The Licensing and Regulation Division are able to announce that, the temporary ban on the selling, loaning and hiring of firearms and ammunition for the reasons of Sport or Target Shooting, Clay Target Shooting and Recreational hunting will be lifted as of Tuesday 12 May, 2020 at 11:59pm. Please note you must continue to practice social distancing and should only be undertaking these activities if you really need to. It is integral to your health and wellbeing. The Licensing and Regulation Division aims to minimise disruption in the industry as much as possible. Given this, we would like to assure you that licence holders will not have to reapply for a Permit to Acquire (PTA) if they applied to the Licensing and Regulation Division prior to 31 March 2020. Additionally, we will be prioritising these applications prior to any new applications that are sent to the Licensing and Regulation Division. These applications will be assessed and processed in an orderly fashion. Where a pre-payment for the PTA fee was made, applicants will not face further costs from the Licensing and Regulation Division. Further to this announcement, the Licensing and Regulation Division will continue to: accept renewal applications via email remain flexible regarding handgun participation requirements for the remainder of the calendar year perform firearms and storage inspections. Firearm safety courses will recommence at the discretion of local Divisional Firearm Officers and in line with health restrictions. The phone enquiry service provided by the Licensing and Regulation Division will remain closed as we revert to business as usual. We encourage you to contact us via email with your enquiries. Lastly, with the co-operation of dealers, the members of the Licensing and Regulation Division will monitor the sales of ammunition. We are encouraging dealers to be alert and consider limiting the quantity of ammunition per transaction. Attached for your reference is the revocation notice. 18.01.2022 From 11:59pm tomorrow night, you will be allowed to leave home to go hunting in Victoria. Hunting must be in parties of no more than 10 people, while maintainin...g physical distancing of 1.5 metres between all participants. As always though, Victorians are being asked to be considered and use common sense when it comes to their activities. You should only leave home if you really need to. We are all being asked to make sacrifices in order to save lives. Hunters must travel from their home and return within the day no camping or overnight stays are permitted. The updated restrictions applies to open seasons for Stubble Quail, deer (except Hog Deer), hunting Sambar Deer with hounds, and duck. For duck hunting start times will be delayed until 8:00am from Wednesday, 13 May through to Sunday, 17 May (inclusive). Four wetlands will be closed / partially closed / further regulated. Please check the GMA website regularly for updates on wetland closures. People are reminded to act safely, responsibly and legally. 18.01.2022 Due to the obvious we have been unable to run our usual Hunters Ed and June Club Hunt..... We have decided we’ll be combining Hunters Ed and a general Club Hunt at a location TBA and a date in July TBA. Club events are open to financial members only. If you wish to see what we’re all about come down to a monthly meeting. ... (NB: Fingers crossed our first post COVID-19 socially distanced club meeting will be the first Wednesday in July, depending on restrictions easing)

Circuit-breaker restrictions are in place from 11:59pm on Thursday 27 May until 11:59pm on Thursday 3 June 2021. This means that you cannot leave your home unless you are doing it for one of the five following reasons: shopping for necessary goods and services care and caregiving exercise authorised work and permitted study to get a COVID-19 vaccination. Yes, fishing and hunting within 5km of your home so long as it doesn’t require the use of a facility is allowed. You can participate in these activities for up to two hours. You can leave home once a day to do so. Do I have to wear a face mask while exercising? You do not need to wear a face mask when exercising if you are out of breath or puffing. You must carry a face mask with you at all times unless you have a lawful reason not to. Can I exercise with someone else? You can exercise with your household or one other person who you don’t live with as long as neither of you travel more than 5km from your home. You can exercise for up to two hours. You can leave home once a day to exercise. 07.01.2022 The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) has announced the review of the Victorian Wildlife Act 1975. Submissions can now be lodged via the Engage Victoria portal. The Wildlife Act (1975)... and the Wildlife (Game) Regulations are two of the most integral pieces of legislation that affect all forms of hunting in Victoria. (The legislation covers hunting in any manner - Public, Private, Game & Pest) Members are strongly encouraged to take the opportunity to comment as individuals on the formal review via the Engage Victoria portal. The Engage online portal is the norm now to have your say. Be assured that those who are against hunting are fully aware of this. 03.01.2022 Just a reminder to all members and would be members: VDA Hunters Education Course is fast approaching on 14th, 15th and 16th May in NE Victoria. This is for members and there is no charge for this event and you will be exposed to all things deer hunting by people who have forgotten more than most know. ... There will also be a caping and butchering demonstration. To register your interest please contact the club via email, Phone or Messenger and we can pass on your details. PLEASE NOTE: Please bring your own camping gear and water to be self sufficient. The the camp itself is 4WD access only. (2wd is ok for 99% of the trip) We can arrange to ferry you into camp if required.

01.01.2022 With recent announcements I don’t think we really need to state the obvious, but the much anticipated members - Hunters Education/Club Hunt planned for later this month has been cancelled. If you’re one of the lucky postcodes or areas not included in the lockdown, get out and hunt while you can.. for everyone else stay safe and look after each other!
