25.01.2022 At the going down of the sun, and in the morning. We will remember them.

25.01.2022 After our Samsung tablet delivery recently from our friends at the Toukley Neighbourhood Centre, resident Shirley Stepien was one of the first people lucky enough to be able to spend some quality virtual time with volunteer, Janelle! Shirley was visibly teary as the two friends caught up and chatted about their favourite rock cake recipes. With COVID-19 restrictions, our volunteers haven't been able to visit recently, so it was wonderful to be able to reconnect with them. We can't wait to get more residents involved in this fantastic project!

23.01.2022 POSITIONS AVAILABLE There's something exciting brewing at Vietnam Veterans Keith Payne VC Hostel, and we're looking for some new people across multiple departments to join us for the ride! The roles include AINs for 'seven on, seven off', those that are available for all shifts, and those who can be added to our casual pool It will involve, broadly, ensuring the daily needs of our residents are met.... Whether you're experienced in the industry or looking to take your first steps in aged care, we want to hear from you! To find out more or apply, email [email protected]

23.01.2022 It's beautiful moments like this that put a smile on our faces every day! Walking down the corridor recently we found Clinical Manager, Cal Cowan sharing a hug with our resident, Shirley. Cal does so much for the residents at Vietnam Veterans Keith Payne VC Hostel - we are lucky to have her and love seeing moments like this!

23.01.2022 We're still reliving just how awesome it was to get outside in the fresh air last week and watch a wonderful Elvis concert! Here's a small snippet of what we got to experience - the Elvis impersonator was very good and all our residents commented how lovely the afternoon was!

16.01.2022 EXTRA, EXTRA! Read all about it! Did you see us in the latest edition of the Coast Community Chronicle? Keep an eye out for a copy so you can read all about how our partnership with the Toukley Neighbourhood Centre is helping our residents keep in touch with those who matter to them

14.01.2022 It was third time lucky for our staff and residents today as the big open-air Elvis concert we have been planning for ages finally went ahead! Having twice been called off due to the weather, all the residents who joined us for the show enjoyed a beautiful afternoon tea and some wonderful entertainment.

13.01.2022 This morning was so beautiful, many of our residents couldn't resist pulling up a chair in the sun and taking in the beautiful garden that sits in the middle of the Hostel!

12.01.2022 The spooky season has brought out the best in our residents and staff, as we celebrated Halloween with costumes, fun, and games around the hostel! It was a little too wet for us to hold the concert we were planning, but that didn't stop us from getting into the spirit of the scariest day of the year!

12.01.2022 Is there anything quite like the smell of a fry up on the BBQ?! Our staff at Vietnam Veterans Keith Payne VC Hostel understand that sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference, so recently we surprised our residents with a freshly cooked bacon and egg breakfast. Everyone said it was absolutely delicious!

11.01.2022 There is nothing quite like the power of words to keep our minds active! When the weather outside is a little overcast, there's always plenty to do inside at Vietnam Veterans Keith Payne VC Hostel! Today we played a few friendly (but competitive) games of Scrabble

10.01.2022 V-NEWS IS HERE We can’t believe how quickly October passed it must have been all the fun we had! From Halloween celebrations to photoshoots, visits, and everything in between, it was a very busy month! Find out what we got up to in our V-News update for October!

09.01.2022 VISITATION UPDATE The Department of Health has released the latest Visitor Access Code (VAC) which provides guidelines for visitation within Residential Aged Care Facilities. Read about how it affects you at the link below

08.01.2022 VISITATION UPDATE Yesterday NSW Health revised the guidelines regarding visitation requirements for the facility. Vietnam Veterans Keith Payne VC Hostel wish to advise how this will affect you and your plans to visit over Christmas, and into the new year.... In the below linked article, we explain the new guidelines and what they mean for you! https://bit.ly/37o2bHq

07.01.2022 We're always finding ways to expand our horizons at the Hostel, and last week was no different! Taking advantage of the beautiful weather we were having, we held a Tai Chi class in the courtyard. Our residents loved the beauty of the movements and the serenity of sitting outside amongst nature!

05.01.2022 While we were unable to host a ceremony given the ongoing COVID-19 restrictions, Vietnam Veterans Keith Payne VC Hostel still managed to recognise Remembrance Day last week in a very special way. Our resident, Frank Hill proudly displayed his medals and suit on the day - a sage reminder that the sacrifices made for our country by servicemen and women is never forgotten.

02.01.2022 It's the simple pleasures that make us the most happy, sometimes! We caught this moment recently with one of our residents and her visitor enjoying a piping hot cup of tea and biscuits, a laugh and a few stories.

01.01.2022 A couple of friendly faces joined us this week from the Toukley Neighbourhood Centre Inc, delivering some very special items for our residents! Anne Marie and Jo could only come to the foyer, but they brought with them some handmade blankets and, on loan, three Samsung tablets for our Activity staff. We know our residents love the blankets - they're so warm and cosy - but the tablets will also help us to connect our volunteers, who aren't able to visit the facility, with o...ur residents virtually. Thanks so much for the visit, guys! We loved seeing you again.
