20.01.2022 Cessation of Rehearsals and Productions As most of you would be aware, The Premier and the Prime Minister both released statements last night and this morning about closing public venues and meeting spaces.... While some details are being worked out, the intent of their message is to stop unnecessary activities which may contribute to the spread the Covid-19 virus, including unnecessary travel and meetings, and to stop them from today. I've also spoken to the Manger of the Seven Hills Hub today and the venue will be closed up to the 30th June. In the light of this, Villanova Players has sadly ceased all rehearsals, monthly meetings and the performances of "Switzerland" and "An Ideal Husband" planned for May and June. We remain committed to both productions and will work hard to ensure that they do go on at a suitable time, once the restrictions on public gatherings make that possible. While it is disappointing and I respect the keenness of our members to keep things going, we need to listen to the advice of our Health professionals and take a serious break from activities which might spread the virus. During this difficult time, please stay safe, try to support each other from a safe distance and there are many activities which can help us come back stronger and healthier. 06.01.2022 Remembering our past member and friend, Laurie Monsour. Lawrence Monsour passed away peacefully last week after a four year battle with cancer. He loved and supported his family, kids and grandchildren without limit, and gave so much to others during his life. He will be missed everyday but will be with us for ever. Under these exceptional times and circumstances, there will be no funeral for Laurie, apart from a small gathering for immediate family.
