25.01.2022 Yesterday was National Sorry Day, or the National Day of Healing for all Australians, in which we acknowledge and recognise members of the Stolen Generations. It was also three years since the Uluru Statement of the Heart invited us to walk together in a movement of the Australian people for a better future. We support the Uluru Statement, which asks all Australians to support a First Nations voice in the Constitution, and a Makarrata Commission to oversee a process of agreement-making and truth-telling. #inthistogether Please share to raise the profile of this very important Statement

21.01.2022 We need your help now more than ever With recent bushfires, and now the monumental pandemic of COVID-19, the demand for Vinnies services is becoming more urgent by the day as this crisis continues to evolve. Without you, we wont be able to continue to meet the daily needs of the most vulnerable in our communities. The $4 cost of your daily coffee will help put food on the table for someone who would otherwise go without. Every little bit counts right now, please help us to continue to help others and give what you can so we can reach our $100,000 fundraising goal. Click the Donate button now.
20.01.2022 The last but not least of our IWD spotlights is ..... Wina Zhu ! Wina began her volunteering journey with Vinnies in 2011. Her humour, bubbly personality and genuine enthusiasm and love for all things Vinnies is evident in her plethora of service experiences within the society. She started volunteering with Brekkie Vans, Night Patrols, then Kids Camps and Buddies Days. Wina volunteered for Villawood Detention Centre Visits and with the Refugee English Language Program. Win...a says Not only has the Vinnies volunteer services given me so much in my own personal growth and eye-opening learnings about our community just with the diverse range of services we have, Vinnies has given me great opportunities with leadership development. This includes her tenure as Vice President, Treasurer and Spiritual Officer at Sydney University Young Vinnies Society. As well as being Deputy Youth Representative for Sydney Arch Diocese (where she was part of the team that established the Youth and Young Adults Conference!! YAY!!) and NSW Youth Representative. Wina is currently NSW Youth Representative for Twinning! Wina is an inspirational young Vincentian woman! See more
20.01.2022 Can you sign the petition to suspend evictions? In addition to being a public health pandemic, COVID-19 is fast becoming a significant social justice issue. Unfortunately, as more people become unwell, care for someone who is unwell, or work in an business or industry that is adversely impacted, it is expected that workers, especially contractors and casuals, could lose employment and income.... With the high cost of housing, Vinnies NSW is understandably concerned that this may lead people to fall into rent or mortgage arrears and be at risk of eviction and homelessness. In response, we are joining other not-for-profit organisations here and abroad in calling on state and territory governments to put a stop to evictions during the COVID-19 pandemic. To support the call, please click below to sign the new petition.
18.01.2022 For National Reconciliation Week, we love learning from Insta account @BlakBusiness. Check it out and continue your own part in the journey of reconciliation. Reconciliation is everybodys business. #inthistogether2020 #NRW2020
17.01.2022 Join the Kindness Revolution and Volunteer Today! We need your help now more than ever. With recent bushfires, and now pressure on our economy, the demand for Vinnies services will become more urgent as the current health crisis evolves. Without you, we wont be able to continue to meet the daily needs of the most vulnerable in our communities.... Many of our dedicated network of volunteers at a higher risk for COVID-19, and now with people and organisations choosing to self-isolate, Vinnies is at risk of a reduction in volunteer numbers. Just a little bit of your time each week can help keep our shops and services stay operating, so we can continue to raise critical funds and help those hit hardest by this pandemic. In this uncertain time, we need to think about the bigger picture. Your generosity of spirit in the community and your support can help us to continue to respond to the situation. Whether youre an existing volunteer, or want to help out for the first time, Register below to tell us how you can help us keep helping others
17.01.2022 Celebrating International Womens Day this week we are doing a spotlight on incredible women in our Vinnies Community Meet Brooke Simmons! Brooke is an incredible leader and role model, her proactive attitude and genuine compassion is evident in all her service to the society.... Brooks started volunteering with Vinnies over 12 years ago and is now the Staet Council Vice-President for Social Justice. In that time she has donated her time on Kids Camps, Buddies Days, Liverpool Night Patrol, Brekky Vans, with SUYV as Spiritual Officer and then fundraising coordinator. Brooke says serving with the Society is part of how I try to live out my Catholic faith. The more Ive put into my work in the Society, the more Ive gotten back. Its so rewarding. I also love how wherever I go around Australia, I can connect with the Vincentian family and instantly feel at home. Ive met so many wonderful people over the years - volunteers, members, staff and companions- and I feel blessed for getting to meet and work with these wonderful people. We are very lucky to have Brooke as a member and leader within our Youth Community

While this site is currently closed due to the need to maintain social distancing, we continue to provide case management, support and assistance to young people and their families via ph...one and email.
