16.01.2022 Weve been on a road trip collecting three trailer loads of really cool stuff from various sales and auctions. One of the interesting finds was a tin of Australian Army ration packs from the Vietnam War. Of the five packs in the tin, only one was salvageable and the rest looked as you would expect 50 year old food to look. Items included tinned steak omelette, corned beef, chocolate, toilet paper, matches, a tin opener and some Allens fruit drops. Soldiers survived on these limited rations in hostile conditions for months on end - we really are indebted for their sacrifice.

16.01.2022 More items that will be for sale at our auction on 8 September at the Uralla Showground. If you would like a full catalogue please email [email protected]

13.01.2022 This amazing 1850s Chemical Laboratory by John J Griffin is one of my favourite pieces. Full of powders and potions (even a little bit of cyanide), I hoped it wasnt going to kill me when I was cleaning it up. There were also some old catalogues and a newspaper from 1866 wrapping and protecting the glassware. A beautiful piece thats a keeper - not for sale for now...

13.01.2022 If youre craven a hit of vintage shopping, well be open from 10am to 2pm today. 37 Bridge Street, Uralla.

13.01.2022 Another delivery of a repurposed vintage wool table and another very happy customer, my wife. Happy birthday Cathy.

10.01.2022 Just over two weeks to go until the auction where you’ll find plenty of unique and interesting pieces up for grabs. Lot 230 is a tussie mussie or nose gay holder from around 1875. These were used to hold a small posy of flowers and were a popular fashion accessory in Victorian times. It is said they helped to combat the smell of the streets. A full auction list can be found here http://www.fnmudgee.com.au//antique-auction-uralla-showgro

07.01.2022 A cold rainy day calls for a bargain table - everything in these photos (apart from the table itself) $5 or less

07.01.2022 Both of these ads featured in the same copy of a 1916 magazine - I say be happy with what youve got and wary of those trying to sell you greener grass!

06.01.2022 Another two beautiful wool tables are off to happy customers today.

01.01.2022 Heres to vintage Santa who would break into your house and smoke inside. We will reopen in February after an extended break - merry Christmas and a safe festive season to you all

01.01.2022 I have just loved reading through this Autograph Book owned by a young Mary E Ramsay. In 1909 she and her two friends signed a "covenant" to meet at the vestibule of the Sydney Art Gallery on the 24th December 1914 for mutual admiration and exchange of experiences (with no one allowed to monopolise the conversation). No escorts were allowed and should one of them already be dead they nominated the specific flowers to be placed on their grave. So dramatic, but today all this would be replaced by a text message. Some beautiful entries from the book are shown below.
