12.01.2022 CHANGES TO ASSURANCE OF SUPPORT On the 5/4/2018 the Department of Home Affairs have announced changes to the AoS (Assurance of support) requirements. Some of these changes are effective immediately. Some visas have mandatory AoS such as Parent visas and certain other family visas. This means that these changes will affect permanent parent visas applications (e.g. 143, 864, 804, aged dependent relative, last remaining relative).... The AoS process consists of 2 steps : - assurer(s) providing income evidence to Centrelink regarding their financial capacity; - the Assurances of support bond is paid by placing a term deposit with CommonwealthBank for the term of the AoS REQUIRED INCOME LEVEL OF ASSURER The immediate changes relate to the threshold level of income that your sponsor requires. For example the minimum income threshold has increased from $35793 to $115476 for 2 parents. This varies depending on whether the number of assurers and assurees. ASSURANCE OF SUPPORT BOND The Assurances of support bond will increase by approximately 50% from 1 April 2019. For example the AoS bank guarantee to be paid for a contributory parent visa increases from $10 000 for first adult to $15 000.
