21.01.2022 Check out the incredible and deft handiwork of artist @meg_nicolson as she brings her passion for the local fauna and flora to life with a rich and knowledgeable exploration of the local ecology. Many of these rare and endangered plants and creatures live in our backyards in the South West of Victoria. 20.01.2022 From Narrawong District Primary School from Principal Kate Anderson Today we have begun the next phase of our Designated Indigenous Garden area, the seating. A...fter many hours of collaboration by Lauren and Catherine with Brandon Kroon, an 8 hour drive by Catherine to pick them up we finally have them onsite and in place. A big thank you to Andrew Walsh (who made the fire ball and continues to support our project) and Phillip King and Mike for assisting us this morning to put the seats safely into position. These seats were carved using a chainsaw (you may have seen Brandon at the Tyrendarra Show). We still have further seating, signage and panels to come. We are working towards a September celebration of the finished product. Students will be involved in learning more about the flora and fauna used in this area in the first four weeks of term. Please scroll through the pictures for information about why these animals have been chosen. I can not thank Lauren and Cat Bailey enough for their long term support in making the area come to fruition. We can’t wait to see the students faces on Monday when they see these! 16.01.2022 Bringing in the new year of 2021 with two new workshops in collaboration with #bravenewskills. I developed these workshops in response to the question What skills can I share to support the wellbeing of others in lockdown that are #fun and playful and support growth and new perspectives? I piloted this baby in Dec2020 and the feedback was very moving. I like to do this process every year as it gives freshness and direction to my creativity. Link in bio for both courses. Her...e some feedback from a course participant I love anything that supports creative dreams - courses, books, podcasts etc. I enjoyed attending your course on zoom via my mobile phone. It felt surprisingly safe and intimate. I set myself up under a tree in the park, with my journal and art supplies, on a picnic rug. My favourite process was drawing a portal and standing on it. I loved the sense of being immersed in my vision.
