16.01.2022 It’s that time again folks - the festival everyone of us looking forward to. Yes, let’s get ready to explore creativity & celebrate! What a wonderful opening to our Virtual Festival we had on last Sunday. The beautiful notions of light and colour were expressed by students and educators. Both students and teachers explored the many opportunities to connect online and share their favourite festival experiences. We learnt how to communicate our ideas and understanding of Festi...vals using visual images. It is hoped that all students attending this week have their collage of images of their favourite celebrations that they have composed to share on our learning platform. It will be exciting to see how each one of us has a unique experience and collection of images to teach other students and participants from around the globe what a festival is all about. With Elena Kemezys from Canberra we learnt how to flip the contemporary notion or stigma associated of masks due to Covid. Instead, we made some beautifully decorated masks that are worn in times of celebration and historically these beautiful masks are still used in Europe during festival times such as Carnivale. Rajashri Imandi shared about Eid & Diwali, and Liz Bawden about celebration of Christmas in the Southern Hemisphere. It has also been a busy week for Mukul who has sent us a wonderful PowerPoint of images exploring Diwali. Partishtha sent a beautiful video of family celebration during festival. Thanks to all. If you are planning to attend tomorrow (Sunday), if possible please come prepared with your decorative Mask and Diya lamp. We look forward to having a wonderful virtual festival tomorrow @ 6pm (ACST). It’s FREE to join and we’d love to see you thereIf you have not registered for Sunday session yet, please register on https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/vsa-festival-gifts-tickets- See you all on Sunday! 13.01.2022 What an incredible evening of laughter, cheers and virtual celebration we all had on the platform of Virtual School Australia! There were virtual fireworks, food, magic and masks; everyone's creative participation made the evening extra special. A shout out to Liz Bawden, Rajashree Imandi, Elena Kemezys, Amrita Ghosh for your enthusiasm, kindness, warmth, you guys go above and beyond when interacting with students during this challenging quarantine isolation as many of the st...udents are currently going through. Phil Bevan, thank you for taking us into your intriguing magical world. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We very much appreciated Mukul and Partistha's informative videos, and many thanks to all students who contributed from India and Japan, your contributions have been BRILLIANT. You guys are super talented, and we look forward to seeing many more your creative work in coming days. Virtual food experience (Lamington, Pavlova, Balushahi, Rasogolla and many more) with Bhangra and Garba dance was a lot of fun indeed. Thank you to everyone involved! #virtualfestival #school #kidsentertainment #kidsactivities
