19.01.2022 VISION WEST IS OPEN As optometry is classified as an essential service, Vision West will remain open during the COVID-19 crisis. It is, however, a Government requirement that all professional services provided are deemed urgent. Which are -Sudden onset changes to your vision... -Eye infections or removal of a foreign body -Broken or lost specs or contact lenses -Spec repairs and needy adjustments -Re-ordering of contact lenses or specs Currently, general eye examinations and reviews are not regarded as urgent, unless there is an essential reason. Your optometrist is required to assess that need prior to your appointment. As we are limiting traffic flow due to social distancing in the practice, we may require you to wait at the door while we are serving another person. As a safety precaution, we are disinfecting equipment, frame stock, bench tops etc. between each visit. We ask for your patience with this process.

06.01.2022 Since the Commonwealth Government last week announced steps to ease restrictions put in place due to the COVID-19 emergency, and as Vision West are implementing stringent infection control, we can know begin providing all optometric services once again. Its important to remember that whilst restrictions are easing, social distance requirements remain in place and this has implications for how many people are to be allowed in our waiting room, keeping compliance with the four square metre rule means you may be asked to wait at the front door while we are serving someone else.
