25.01.2022 As promised, I caught up with some of the participants of the Road Boss Rally this afternoon. More photos tomorrow. Names of crews will be matched with the car numbers in comments. They have early finish days today and Thursday so if you'd love to meet these lovely larikins, (2 lovely ladies even ventured out on the segways) look for their cars and they won't be far. #explorebulloo #roadbossrally

You can even order yourself a new vehicle! So if you need your vehicle serviced or need replacement parts or just fuel, stop by Obrien Toyota (Thargo Motors), located in the main street beside the Oasis Motel. 10.01.2022 The Road Boss Rally is arriving in Thargomindah tonight for 3 nights of exploring our region. If you see them around, give them a wave or say hello. They are a fantastic group of people doing great work for special causes. (We'll grab them tomorrow once they've all arrived and are rested up) #roadbossrally #outbackqueensland #driveinland
09.01.2022 Check this out! The Bulloo River rose overnight from rain up north of us. Not enough to cover the picnic table.....yet.
09.01.2022 The road from Tibooburra to Broken Hill NSW is now sealed!!! This means we're now one step away from boosting huge visitation to Outback Queensland, Corner Country and the Bulloo Shire directly. Once the Warri Gate road is completely sealed, this will provide a full bitumened highway, and alleviate wet weather road closures for residents, workers, freighters and tourists alike.
09.01.2022 The Dig Tree Reserve on Nappa Merrie Station is an awesome place to visit. Access is via Thargomindah or Eromanga / Quilpie on a sealed road with only 14km of unsealed road going through Nappa Merrie station. As you'll see in the video, it's even accessible by motorhome. It's hard to explain but you actually get a sense of what it would have been like during the ill fated Burke & Wills Expedition when explore the new interpretive signage. It doesn't just have to be a day tr...ip either. You can set up camp close by, near the river, and have a little expedition of your own. There is a conservation fee of $20 per vehicle, or $60 for buses, which goes toward maintaining these magnificent trees and grounds. Visit www.thedigtree.com.au for more info. #explorebulloo #thedigtree #outbackqueensland
08.01.2022 Thursday afternoon, last day of the rally, these lovely people called in to say farewell to us at the Visitor Centre. They're on their way to St George and heading back home to Goondoowindi.
06.01.2022 Updated Road Closure Report Thursday 24th September 2020 - The Dig Tree is OPEN!!

02.01.2022 Thursday.....what day?? (read to the end) A group of 15 year old boys discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at the McDonald's next to Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because they only had six dollars among them, they could ride their bikes there and Jennie Webster, that cute girl in Social Studies, lives on the same street and they might see her. Ten years later, the group of now 25 year old guys discussed where they should meet for dinner. ...It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the beer was cheap, the bar had free snacks, the house band was good, there was no cover charge and there were lot of cute girls. Ten years later, at 35 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was decided they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the booze was good, it was near their gym and, if they went late enough, there wouldn't be too many whiny little kids. Ten years later, at 45, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the martinis were big and the waitresses wore tight pants. Ten years later, now 55, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the prices were reasonable, they have a nice wine list and fish is good for your cholesterol. Ten years later, at 65 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the lighting was good and they have an early bird special. Ten years later, at 75 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because the food was not too spicy and the restaurant was handicapped accessible. Ten years later, at 85 years of age, the group once again discussed where they should meet for dinner. It was agreed they would meet at Captain Jack's Seafood Grille because they had never been there before.
