We're home to over 200 species of birds to be precise This Pale-headed Rosella and Plum-headed Finch were recently spotted in the Goondiwindi Botanical Gardens. 20.01.2022 Customs House Museum is a must-do pitstop when visiting the Gundy Region to discover the local history of our region. Lovingly run by a dedicated group of volunteers, the heritage-listed building was constructed in the 1870s and was originally used as a border customs point. Step back in time as you wander through the rooms of Customs House which houses memorabilia including vintage machinery, blacksmithing tools as well as displays detailing the early stories of agriculture ...in the region. Take the time to explore the museum, but make note of opening hours - it's open on Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, from 9am-1pm. GrangerTV

Located halfway between Inglewood and Goondiwindi, you'll find the small town of Yelarbon which is definitely one to add to the must-travel list. Pull up stumps at the Yelarbon Recreation Grounds, which is lovingly maintained by a dedicated group of local volunteers. ... The site offers powered and unpowered sites with the facilities (toilets and hot showers ) housed in a restored railway station building. There are also two onsite museums showcasing the history of the region which you can explore as part of your stay. Just a short walk away you'll find the Yelarbon Lagoon and the newest addition to the Australian Silo Art Trail. The Goondiwindi Cinema was originally built as a Town Hall and Civic Centre in 1937 but was transformed to be used as a cinema between 1959-1978. After not being used for a number of years, the cinema was restored to its former glory and reopened in 2015 and is now the stunning building we see today....
