Using something like a twirling ribbon is an amazing w...ay to get kids to make airborne shapes like big figure 8's in front of their body. This involves them crossing their midline to perform the activity and then you would have them repeat it with with their opposite side. You might even have them make vertical figure 8s using both hands for a bilaterally integrated task requiring both hands to work together.
