24.01.2022 My first freestyle...would have lost too much stone if I had done it as a round brilliant.. So decided to do my own thing with this sapphire. Thanx for your help today with my VJ too.. Cutting again now

23.01.2022 Why buy a VJ?? A lot of people do their research before investing in a new Faceting Machine. And rightly so, its not a small investment especially for the hobbyist. People want the comfort of back up service and help when required including additional parts that are easily sourced. What you will come across on line is a vast amount of outdated forums, and older information. Some say upwards of 12 Months wait time and others say winding up. Please check the dates on thes...e forums. Check this Facebook Page and our web site www.vjfacet.com.au. Dont forget the au. So, this is why you should buy a VJ. I have manufactured over 40 machines since taking over. No issues to date. I have 18 and counting orders on the books at the moment and apart from a major equipment failure in the shop will have your machine ready for you within a 3 Month time frame. Im here for the next 20 years to offer the same service those who have purchased a VJ in the past have come to know. I am definitely not having a whinge but it is important to get the word out that Australian Made Manufacturing is alive and well. And expanding !!!

23.01.2022 I have 5ct jars of 8k Pre-Polish and 100k Polish available for $10 ea. I have 10ct size jars ordered so I can Mix larger quantities. ... This diamond powder is mixed with an additive to assist in lubrication. If this doesnt change your life, Ill give your money back.

22.01.2022 Fresh off the dop. Nice yellowish .7ct Sapphire.

22.01.2022 this Sapphire has a band of silk under the table. If it had been heated, that would be "gone", but I never hesitate to cut silky rough, some of my favorite gem...s have come from this material What was different about this one though, is that the silk extinguishes as the gem is rotated thru 90 degrees. 1.25cts. It should have taken an hour to complete, however I daydreamed a bit, so took an extra 15mins . 22.01.2022 Been a super busy month. We secured 2 International orders this Month bringing total@orders for August to 9!!!! We are also going to print on the second edition of George Weiers book on cutting with the VJ. It will available shortly.

20.01.2022 Super busy this week. I have 4 machines going out. 2 heading out to Emerald and the Gem Fields, one to Brissy and the 4th is crossing Bass Straight to Tassie. Wish I was going to Tassie. Love that part of the world.

19.01.2022 Today I received an email from a Cutter in Gympie who has just picked up his new VJ. He gave me permission to post this recommendation as he does not have Facebook. I have copied the below from his email. Its great to receive positive feedback. Im a cutter of 30 years with a Gemmasta GF2 and been watching the VJ evolve to what it is today and it was time for me to upgrade and what an upgrade. It was like stepping out of a Commodore in to a Rolls Royce, what a great machine and top people to deal with.

17.01.2022 Our 12v Variable Speed Controllers coupled with the 12v dc reversible motor will give you in excess of 2100 rpm at the lap. This will vary as your machine warms up. The age and condition of the Master Lap bearings also come into play.

17.01.2022 Started at 5ct. Finished at 1.35 ct. Unheated Tanzanite. Cut on sintered 600 Pre-Polish 3000 on Copper Polish 100,000 on Typemetal ... I placed the table to pick up the 3 colours that Tanzanite shows. Ill put a photo in comments tomorrow in day light.

16.01.2022 We will be heading up to the Rockhampton Gem Expo on Sat 15th and Sunday 16th of August. We have a Traders Stall inside and will have a new Faceting Machine on display as well as some Trim Saws and other gear. Laps, Dops ETC. I will be bringing up my aligning kit, so if youre heading out and want your machine looked at let me know and we can book it in. Ill also set up and do some cutting on my VJ if you want to see one in action.

12.01.2022 Just received a shipment of 2050 Dop blanks. Regardless of your thoughts on dops and what to use after market, each one of these have been centre less ground and measures spot on 1/4 Great job done by Henry Engineering in NSW. This ensures that when you place a dop into a VJ quill, it is guaranteed that it will not run out more that 1/10 of a thou. Each of these will now get machines into various sizes here. ... Busy times ahead.

09.01.2022 We have had some new switches fitted to this batch of Trim Saws. IP65 rated and I think they are better suited to this application. Look out for a colour change too. We will have some of these down at the Hervey Bay Gem Show next weekend.

05.01.2022 Testing Master Lap run out on new machines currently being assembled. Did I say run out..... Thats right, there isnt any. When you take the time on each component and ensure that it is perfect, then assembly becomes easy and rarely requires adjustment.
