15.01.2022 People are waking up to the reality that they’re being done by. That the government of Australia have betrayed us on accounts of ecocide, genocide, treason, theft, falsity... So every man and his dog now wants to sue the government. And what I think’s great is that people now have the ability to do this. - Water Activist, Voice of the Baaka

05.01.2022 Nature knows what it's doing...

02.01.2022 POLICE CHIEF MARCHES WITH WILCANNIA MOB After police forcibly dragged protesters off the Wilcannia bridge on Friday, local Police Chief Inspector Anthony Moodie marched alongside members of the community on Saturday to spread awareness about the need for an ongoing healthy Darling River. "We all know that if there's water in the Darling, for this community, they feel good", Chief Inspector Anthony Moodie said. This is a good community. People here need to take lawful action.... Hopefully the message they're trying to get across will be heard." Organised by female elders from Wilcannia, a group of around 30 people marched over the bridge yielding banners and signs, led by the Chief Inspector and young children. "We're asking peacefully, we're asking respectfully to be understood", said Brendon Adams. [The government] have the power with a pen to change policy that will let this river flow again all the way down to the whole basin of the Murray-Darling. Water has temporarily returned to the Darling River in Wilcannia since heavy rain in south east Queensland recently flowed down to the lower Darling for the first time in years. With the recent announcement to remove the embargo on upstream pumping, however, locals fear that the river will be dry again in only a few months' time.
