25.01.2022 Just a quick video on the war chest strategy. Is your business deliberately structured to generate surplus? This is a radical and super powerful approach that challenges the way we look at cash reserves, and makes them easier to understand.... And of course it raises the next question: What is your long term plan for application of that surplus? What Bryan is showing here is that anyone can make it work in a small family business, and hes giving you the "how-to" steps you need. 21.01.2022 In this video, Brace gives us a quick unpack of why some know-how for interpreting a balance sheet is so important for businesses. If the owner doesnt run the business in this way, the business is likely to run the owner! So with the likelihood of some uncertainty ahead in the economy, Brace gives a few "reasons why" this is a skill you should prioritise! Things may be a bit tougher, leaner, tighter, but is your net worth doing the right thing?... Keeping right up to date with your book keeping and financial reporting puts you in control. It may be a challenge to get there, but it gets easier the more up to date you can keep it. Examining the balance sheet at the same time each month is the best way to learn how to understand it, because it helps you get used to what the numbers should look like. And then you can start to see how decisions you took have affected the figures, when youre pulling all the right levers.

21.01.2022 Hey guys! We are very excited to introduce the new CUBO series of flush and surface mounted switchboards. You asked for extra space, more flexibility and quicker installation you got it! Just working on the final tweaks now and should be good to go before the end of the year.

20.01.2022 In this video Pete gives a real quick overview on tackling the financials ahead of June 30th! In a way its like using the rear vision mirror, yes. But far better to be getting it all ready and sorted now, so your forward view is clean and sharp for the new financial year.... The name of the game here is getting a clear view of everything good and bad for this year, benefiting from the hindsight, and maximising for better performance next financial year. But let Pete give you his tips on how to get all this into perspective.

20.01.2022 In todays video Paul gives some great insights into getting the team aligned with your goals for customer service! Personally cared for in a consistent way, theyre more likely to take care of each other, of your business, and of course, of your customers. And this is key for productivity and for word of mouth promotion. A note or some passing encouragement is simple, but hard.... As business owners, with so much responsibility, its not always easy to catch them doing something right! So Paul has a new 30 day challenge for us all, and its not an easy one!

19.01.2022 Heres a brief round-up of ideas for finding work in unexpected places. Its especially a focus session for those of us whove sensed a slowing down - and how to actively make time for things work. So if your inbound calls have slowed, Stephens philosophy will show you how to turn that to advantage. Hes got some tips for digging deep through your records and for setting goals that work for this sort of thing if its outside the old comfort zone!

19.01.2022 Feedback Needed on Rigid Conduit Fittings: Recently we have been phasing our production across to an Australian manufacture. The colour is a light grey colour, vs the original darker grey, which matches some rigid conduit brands but not others (For instance, APP is darker grey but Pipe Makers are a lighter grey). Our new manufacture could adjust the colour back to the darker grey. Either way, well keep supporting local manufacturing on this product. Is grey or cream the most common rigid conduit colour out there?

19.01.2022 EP13 In todays video Alex itemises the 3 major headings for Customer Service success. This is a big subject and of course there are many branches and sub-headings, but he gives you the keys to success here. Theyll unlock the door, and then theres work to do! Alex would love your business to be the contractor that customers just feel good about referring their friends to. Theres a lot of trust involved in doing that, and he gives you a bit of an insight on that.... When we think about the customers job, we can ask "If I were them, what would I most want from me?" And it helps us to add value, and then I can start to shift my business away from the price rat race. The aim of the game then, for excellent Customer Service, is to build a referral machine. Alex is onto it...

19.01.2022 Feedback round #2 - Yesterday we asked whether the paper packing slips with orders was needed. Due to how our system works, we need to either include paper with all orders, or none. Jeremy Hyde suggested a check-off list on our App instead - whats your thought on this as a replacement for paper? (Image mock-up below of how this could look on the App)

19.01.2022 Thanks to one of our longtime, loyal customers for the extra items with his return of some unwanted goods! Its not every day that we get more returned than bought :)

19.01.2022 The 2021 Diary proofs are here! It is a big one, but trust it has covered most of your needs and suggestions! Few minor tweaks and then into production!

19.01.2022 We are glad Footy is back! #GOINGBACKTONORMAL

18.01.2022 Opinions or ideas please - a new plug base concept. Were needing to re tool this product due to various reasons, hence the reason for the new design. (note: the white model is 3D printed, not genuine) Benefits: - Captive terminal screws... - Easier terminal screw access (through the side) - Terminals inline with each other for easier termination See more

18.01.2022 This year is not being easy to cope with. How do time-poor tradies handle the various uncertainties and challenges on top of the day job? We had inquiries about it, and todays video is the outcome of some discussions and questions about mindfulness, whether it helps and where it fits for contractors.... Its been described as Paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally. Truth is, mindfulness and perspective have always walked hand in hand. To just simply do whatever youre already doing, but in full awareness, is the essence of practical mindfulness. Mindfulness helps us to surface answers, grasp insights, and make that shift, moment by moment, into a more spacious, reliable, and loving connection with others when unreliability is all around. Check out the video for a better idea of how it can help you and your team.

17.01.2022 Gday lads, We are needing to retool our plug base so if we were to change or improve anything what would it be? It seems the concept redesign we released recently wasnt well received and wed really appreciate your input. Downside of the concept below is they cannot be fitted to Jboxes, but there are a few advantages listed in the image. The other option is a product similar to today with improved terminals and captive screws. Let us know your preference or ideas!

17.01.2022 Here is a v2 update made from your great feedback and suggestions!

15.01.2022 Have you tried the all-new Voltex 240V Smoke Alarm? https://www.voltexelectrical.com.au/c-229-smoke-detector.as With a 10year lithium battery backup as standard, your client will never need to replace the battery. Wireless pairing with the battery-only model or between 240V models is easy with the wireless module (SASWM), bought separately at a very reasonable price.

15.01.2022 Heres a concept image of the new compact isolator to replace our current WPS220. Whats your thoughts? The red line is a on/off indicator light - is it needed? (note - theres no enclosure in this render but the current spec is 6 x 25mm push-out entries)

14.01.2022 How often do you use sheathed conduit? Its standard PVC conduit with a thin outer sheath that stays looking good in the sun far longer than un-sheathed (standard) corrugated conduit. We have access to a quality European manufactured product and the price wouldnt be a lot higher than youre used to. Would you use it?

12.01.2022 Hi team! Weve been working on new Neon mechs with improved light output, using an LED chip. But weve also been dabbling with a diffuser lens to give a more even spread - shown in white but will be moulded red & green. Would you prefer the look of a diffuser (right hand image), or is it important that they look similar to existing products for swap outs?

11.01.2022 We are considering introducing a 20A double pole isolator, with an isolator style switch mechanism in the rear housing, rather than a standard switch mech mounted in the front. The isolator would be slightly bigger, and the price would be a few dollars more than a 20A weatherproof switch. There would be more wiring space and all connections are made in the rear housing, which should make installation quicker and easier. Would you pay a little extra for the isolator?

10.01.2022 2021 Diary Planners are coming off the production line and should be here late Nov! We'll send you a link when available online!

07.01.2022 We have progressed with our new Tricolour design of our Barcelona (13W) & LeMans (9W) LED downlights & would like your input please. We know that the 33mm depth of the current light is a great feature - the proposed new design downlight housing has a rear entry of cord which will require an additional 3mm depth do you see this as much of a problem in applications where you use these? Would be glad of any input. Thanks all!

It was designed to make sure contractors could buy ahead on scheduling and never be at any disadvantage, ever. ... Well, if your projections don't turn out all that accurate, you simply return stuff to Voltex and get all your money back. As often as you like.
