24.01.2022 Thinking about my family celebrating the birth of Christ without me made me feel so helpless and alone. As we worked, I remembered Christmas songs in my mind, songs my father taught me when I was a young boy http://ow.ly/3i0c50CyT1K #Persecution #VOMAus #Heb133

16.01.2022 Pakistan Project Report Although 2020 was challenging in many ways, by the grace of God, the work of the Lord continued. Last year Voice of the Martyrs, together with our supporters, provided help to many persecuted Christians in Pakistan. This project provided support to Christians facing systemic religious discrimination in Pakistan. The project funds allowed us to provide struggling families with Bibles, food and other necessities plus a Christian education for thei...r children. The project funds also enabled us to provide 135 pairs of shoes to these children. Along with gifting Bibles and shoes, we were also able to set up temporary medical camps in Christian communities. Medical aid was provided free of charge as Christians in Pakistan are mostly unable to afford treatment. We currently have five pastors working with village Christians in various areas, supporting them spiritually and physically. 16.01.2022 Pray for SAUDI ARABIA Pray that believers in prison will continue to find strength and encouragement.

15.01.2022 Dan Baumann is a true example of Christ's enduring and gracious love. In 1997 Dan was imprisoned in Iran on false charges which eventually led to two death sentences. Dan sought comfort and strength from the Lord despite being tortured and threatened with execution. The Lord's love permeated through Dan. As he prayed for the very guards who tortured him, the prison guards were moved by his steadfast grace and they remarked to one another that Dan's God was truly the God of lo...ve. After nine weeks of imprisonment in Iran, Dan Baumann was released by Iran’s high court. Hear Dan's full testimony at our FREE Imprisoned for Christ virtual event on Saturday 6 March at 11:30am (AEDT). Join our global community as we hear from our special guest speakers Petr Jasek, Andrew Brunson and Dan Baumann, who share their stories of how they were imprisoned for their faith, and how God delivered them from persecution. Featuring worship by Natalie Grant & a panel moderated by Todd Nettleton. Register for FREE & receive a free gift! vom.com.au/prison4christ #VOMAus #ImprisonedforChrist

14.01.2022 CHINA: Since 1 January, Hengyang police have detained Brother Chen Wensheng, a Christian from Heyang, Hunan Province, twice for sharing the Gospel in the street. Regardless of warnings, threats, and detentions, Brother Chen does not plan to stop. Brother Chen said, I have made up my mind to proclaim the Gospel, even in prison." 10.01.2022 This week on VOMOz Radio Imprisoned in China: "God is with me anytime, anywhere." Cheng Jie, whose English name is ‘Esther’, was the wife of a pastor in China. She and her husband had discussed the idea that he could be arrested and go to prison for his Christian work. They hadn’t believed that she would be targeted by the communist government. But in 2014 she was called to the police station for a ‘meeting’ about the school Esther was running. The meeting with police turn...ed into Esther’s arrest and two years in a Chinese prison. At the time of her arrest, Esther’s sons were aged three and one. Listen to her share how they were affected by her arrest and imprisonment and even the challenges after she was released and returned home. While she was in prison, Cheng Jie was among the prisoners featured on VOM’s web site that enables Christians to write letters to prisoners. Listen to hear her speak directly to those that prayed for her and wrote letters to her while she was in prison and advise how we can pray for Christians in prison today. Cheng Jie’s inspiring story is now playing on VOMOz Radio. Click the link below to listen now, or search VOMOz Radio on Spotify & Apple Podcasts. 06.01.2022 In 1965, friends ransomed the #Wurmbrand family from Romania. The communists were selling prisoners to the West, most for about $2,000. The price on the Wurmbrands’ heads? $10,000. On a cold #Christmas Eve, Sabina, Richard and their son, Michael, arrived at the airport in Oslo, Norway. A few faithful friends met the freed family. 05.01.2022 Pray for ERITREA On 27 January, six female prisoners who were detained in September 2020 in Dekemhare, south-east of Asmara, were released. The women were arrested after worshipping in public as they were walking down a street, an event which was caught on camera and circulated via social media. A few weeks later on 1 February, 64 Christian prisoners were released from Mai Serwa and Adi Abeito prisons, close to the capital city, Asmara. The prisoners had been held without... charge or trial for periods of between two and twelve years. While the releases have been warmly welcomed, there is also speculation that they mark the latest effort by the Eritrean regime to distract international attention from the country’s active role in the ongoing war in Ethiopia’s Tigray region, where Eritrean troops have been accused of violence which may amount to crimes against humanity, war crimes and possibly genocide. The threat of persecution still exists as Christians continue to be in danger in Eritrea. 04.01.2022 As we reflect on 2020 the challenges and the blessings we think of our brothers and sisters in restricted nations. Faced with persecution year after year, they stand firm on the promises of God. This is highlighted in a recent message we received from our partners in #Vietnam: Thank you so much for prayers and support for us. God is so good all the time. We can see the power of God all around us. The brothers and sisters in Vietnam wholeheartedly dedicate themselves t...o God despite persecution and hardship. At VOM Australia, we give thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for His love and mercy this year, and to each of you for your prayers and support. We pray you and your loved ones will be blessed as you celebrate the birth of #Jesus this #Christmas. Let it be a season of love, peace and joy, overflowing into 2021. Abundant blessings, Tony Benjamin CEO. #VOMAus
