25.01.2022 To all our community in Mount Evelyn and beyond. Extreme Windy conditions expected this afternoon. Please be careful driving and walking near trees. Some may have been compromised by recent strong winds and it may not take much for them to fall. Take Care.

25.01.2022 Like all of us, local businesses are doing it tough at the moment. I encourage everyone to look local first when youre going to buy something. 22.01.2022 Lilydale is at the cusp now of trying hard to make itself more people-friendly, and I’ve been working throughout this year and last with the groups to realise their dreams of making sure Lilydale has beautiful streetscapes. I’ve been listening, and I fully agree with the Lilydale Main Street Beautification Committee and Lilydale Community Gardens Steering Group on their ideas of the future of Lilydale Main Street and surrounds. In Mt Evelyn, Wray Crescent is looking very tired, and the upgrade that was done in 2001 is now outdated. We can do much better and I will be looking for community input if I am re-elected.

21.01.2022 Thanks a lot Jordyn

21.01.2022 The soon to become old Lilydale Railway Station and Mount Evelyn Community Room are two important spaces to the people of Billanook and they have the potential for far greater things in the future. The Lilydale Railway Station building could become a great community space which the people of Lilydale so desperately need and want. Mt Evelyn Community Meeting Room, under the auspice of the Mount Evelyn Community House, has done such great things in the last few years with programs for families, children, community and the Reading Room. I fully support what they and the Mount Evelyn community want for their future. If we were to realise a bigger space for them, Council needs to understand it needs to be properly resourced from day one. The volunteers at the moment, with what they’ve got, are doing 110%.

17.01.2022 The Billanook Ward is mostly made up of almost all of Mt Evelyn and half of Lilydale. I have been the Ward Councillor from 2005 until 2012, with two terms as Mayor in 2007, 2008 and Deputy Mayor in 2010, and then Councillor again from 2016 until present. I also stood in 1999 and 2002 but was unsuccessful. In my time on Council I have worked hard for my community, but for those who may not know me well, I would like to tell you a bit about my volunteer work before I came to C...Continue reading

16.01.2022 Update: Boil Water Advisory Notification lifted across all suburbs. Water quality testing has confirmed that the water supply in the network is safe to drink. ...Please see latest post https://www.facebook.com/YVWater/posts/3564687696915692 --------------- Boil Water Advice: Our potential water quality issue is affecting the suburbs listed below. The water comes from closed catchments and has been mixed with disinfected water so the likelihood of any illness being caused is low. But we believe it is better to be safe than sorry. We are working with Melbourne Water and DHHS and will confirm when the boiled water notice is withdrawn. If you have already drunk the water, there is a low risk of potential gastro type of illness. 12.01.2022 Great couple of hrs around Lilydale Lake this arvo. Thank you to all the people that said they have voted for me. I'm very Grateful

12.01.2022 Thank you Cire Community Hubs and Karina for hosting this mid week meet and talking to me about Council and Community.

10.01.2022 Yesterday the Victorian Electrol Commission declared all wards in Yarra Ranges. I'm proud to say I was successful in returning as your councillor in the Billano...ok Ward by a convincing 1568 votes. I'm so very Grateful for your support in believing in me yet again to continue for the next four years. First and foremost a VERY big shout out to my team and that gave me so much help and guidance along the way. Thank you very much. Also THANK YOU to everyone that voted for me. To the people who didn't vote for me, it doesn't matter I'm there for you too. Over the last many months of Covid19 we have ALL been through SO much in our lives and in our communities of Yarra Ranges. It's been Very hard for many. I've felt it many times. I've changed a lot of my thinking about what is going to important in representing you. I need to focus on what can help our people . What can help our businesses. What can help our community organizations going forward PARTICULARLY next year which will be even more challenging to families. Understanding issues that effect our ratepayers, caring more about community as this is the grass roots of Yarra Ranges and certainly showing a greater level of KINDNESS because of what people have gone through AND will continue to go through in the foreseeable future will be so important to me. I'm up for it . I'm ready with a very clear focus as one of a team of nine to represent you for the next four years. With all my heart I say Thank you for reelecting me. Of course the sign says it all

09.01.2022 I want to give a big thank you to Jordyn Kruger who worked so hard all those years ago when I wasn’t on Council for a period of time, to bring the issue of a lack of security lighting around Lillydale Lake to the attention of Yarra Ranges. I’m thankful for all the people who took part in the petition, and the media coverage given. Lillydale Lake, during Covid, has demonstrated how important it is to the community and this is why it’s even more important to make sure it’s a safe accessible area for everyone. Everyone should be safe day and night, hence the reason why this security lighting both on the walking track and the car park is vitally important.

07.01.2022 Zero Waste Victoria are presenting a series of waste minimisation webinars over the next couple of months, with support from the Yarra Ranges Council Grants for Community program.

07.01.2022 Through most of this year I’ve been very concerned about the interruption to Lilydale businesses and foot traffic in areas where the barrier fences will be placed during the level crossing removal. I know the State Government has given assurances that they will continue to communicate with our local businesses in Lilydale but we still need to hold them to account in every way.

06.01.2022 I've just heard that the State Government is going to spend $5.3 Billion to build 12000 homes over the next four years to help those experiencing Homelessness. NOW THATS THE BEST NEWS IVE HEARD ALL YEAR. We have to make sure that some are built in the Outer East.

06.01.2022 Have YOUR SAY on the 2021-2025 Council Plan. It is important we hear YOUR voice.

05.01.2022 I want to take this opportunity this morning to say a few things. It's been an honour to serve you as your councillor for the last 4 Years and 7 before that. It's Never just about the councillor it's Always about the community and the members of our community who are the movers and shakers and believe me there are many in Lilydale and Mount Evelyn! I've enjoyed many gr8 connections with members of our community and I'm greatful for the trust and faith shown to me.This is your home and mine as well so it's important always that decisions reflect that. Whether I'm reelected or not I'll always remember that as a community we have achieved a lot by working together. The last thing I want to say is on the sign. I say this with complete sincerity . THANK YOU. Tim Heenan

05.01.2022 The Lillydale Lake Water Play Park will not be functioning this Sunday, 18 October, due to a scheduled power outage. Ausnet Services will be undertak...ing essential maintenance on the 18th, so power supply will not be available at the lake until the late afternoon. We expect the power will be back in time to light up the path around the lake at night. It's shaping up to be a wet and cold weekend, but we apologise for the inconvenience if you'd planned on making a rainy-day adventure in your 5km bubble. Stay safe and remember to get tested if you're feeling sick.

04.01.2022 I hope to have your support to serve the community of the Billanook Ward again in the forthcoming council elections in October. Thank you.

02.01.2022 Footpaths and pathways and walking tracks are important to the residents particularly for connecting to schools and shops. Since coming to council in 2005 Ive been listening to your needs in Billanook and working hard to get them done. Here are some examples .Footpath along Swansea Rd from York Rd to Lillydale Lake

01.01.2022 Having such a long association with Neal Taylor and Holy Fools has taught me how important it is to care for those in our community who struggle with every day life .

01.01.2022 With the unprecedented rain weve had in the last week its important not to interact with flood waters in any way. Please be careful as ATM Our Lilydale State Emergency Service will have their work cut out with fallen trees on our roadways as well as all the help they give our community. Please remember they are volunteers and give lots of their family time day and night.
