25.01.2022 A bond-Deck tray slab prepared at the childcare centre in Croydon for the first floor. A composite slab construction i. e. Steel supporting structure with a flat suspended slab plate sitting atop etc. was adopted to increase the clearance height between the finish floor level of the ground floor car park and to keep within the overall permissible height limit of the building. This is because the overall member depths between each construction system can be reduced. To a builder that is restrained by height requirements, this solution is one of the many options that can be sought.

02.01.2022 A post tensioned suspended slab pour for one of our recent projects at the Craigieburn Medical Centre. Post tensioned slabs capitalise on the tensile advantages in reinforcing steel by tensioning reinforcing steel tendons after the slab has been poured. This construction methodology can improve on building time and cost due to the benefits that post tensioning provides i.e less materials, simpler structural designs as members can be spread out further and decreased duration etc.
