24.01.2022 Terry brought his Thing in today to get his new 1680cc run up and tuned. A full that and tweak here and there and man did this thing do good for its size. Just under 90hp at the tread. This is a beautiful car and a credit to Terry on the build.

22.01.2022 Rat bug getting closer to going home. Few finishing touches and away it'll drive. Looking

22.01.2022 2Ltr bolted back together after a full overall. Has now been fitted with a hydrolic camshaft for easy servicing. Will post as we go on this build. Should be back in and on it's way home next Friday. All engine work is done in house. The case has been sandblasted along with all the other engine components. This had a line bore and all new bearings. It's getting some 96mm big bore pistons and barrels, this will pump up the compression and give it some more sniff.

21.01.2022 2276cc got the heads fitted today. Rockers on tomorrow for both engines. And start to fit some tinwear.

17.01.2022 Just arrived, we have just received our latest shipment from the USA. We have many goodies just in time for Christmas.

17.01.2022 2332 all ready to hit the Dyno. Let's hope it runs as good as it looks. Let have a guess at what RWHP it will make. Will post results once run up. Will hopefully run it this Friday. 16.01.2022 2.2 ltr Type4 motor coming along nicely. This has a 76mm new crank with 96mm pistons. Std heads with performance valve seat job. 8.6 to 1 com and a Web hydraulic cam. Should be a nice motor, we will be fitting and external oil cooler and fan set up on this to ensure longevity. Will post up the end result shortly.

16.01.2022 Further progress on the 2332cc build. Went through the heads. Cc'd and flycut. Dressed up the blend lines of the CNC porting. Backcut the inlet valves. Made up custom barrle spacers to achieve correct deck height. Checked weights of pistons and set up endgaps. Prep and assemble heads. Set up rings and fitted into the Barrels. Then got the satisfying part of bolting it all together.

14.01.2022 Finally got to the dyno with the 2276. Few quick changes and just under 160whp. Great result should push a little beetle along nicely

14.01.2022 Full Blueprint and per assembly done. Full strip down and screwed together. 2332cc build well under way. Building 2 hot motors simultaneously so machining and measuring time is saved.

13.01.2022 2332 taking shape. Got all the rockers side spacing corset. Then worked out the pushrod length. Cut them all to size. Fitted rockers and got them adjusted. Checked valve lift. Was lifting .550" which should work nicely. Roughly fitted the tinwear to get a concept of the look and where things will run. It's a hamburger with the lot this engine. Can't wait to bring it to life. Possibly next week

05.01.2022 Today we installed power steering into this 77modle Bay window. What a difference it's amazing how much it does to assist. You can turn lock to lock with one finger. Will post up some more soon on this once the engine is back in.

05.01.2022 Welded racing fan. Suit late fan shroud $132inc

04.01.2022 Type 4 1800cc upgraded to a 2200cc. Finally got the tinwear back from powder coating. Should have this all finished up tomorrow and installed early next week. Fingers crossed will be heading home next Friday. Will post dyno results.

04.01.2022 Ian's kombi went home today. This Beauty had a new engine installed, power steering, interior floor trimmed. Full service of the drive line. Oil cooler installed along with temp gauge. When it comes in it was down on power and very sluggish. Hard to steer for this wife. The power steering is amazingly good. I would highly recommend it. Also fitted rear parking sensors to help reverse parking. Drove beautiful and customer was extremely happy with the result.

03.01.2022 Final few tweaks and this beast is heading home tomorrow.

01.01.2022 Got the top end fitted to the 2ltr today. It's coming along beautifully. Hope to have this running Thursday or Friday. We have fitted 96mm pistons and changed to a hydrolic camshaft and lifters for easy servicing in the future. Should be a really nice motor.

01.01.2022 1904cc. 90.5x74 with some 40x35 heads. Engle cam set off 44IDF Carbs put down a nice 117Hp this afternoon. This was a top end on a not very old engine. Had seen a fair bit of water and had destroyed the Barrels and carbys.
