The first song expresses the dilemma that he went through as youth, and the second song expresses the joyful feeling of playing music toegether with the best mates. Sometimes songs can express our feelings better than the verbal expressions. Music help us a lot as a way to express the feelings that we hesitate to do so in spoken words. This may be why we all need music

He flexibly adds the needed sound to the song without assertion and creates the good harmony in each song.

Although there were many challenges for Cairns community to come to or even hold the event itself, we were able to be part of this event again this year and collect some donation to Smile With Kids. Thank you so much for all your support! We will share the movies later on.

20.01.2022 10Japan Day of HopeSmile With Kids 237 We'll be part of Japan Day of Hope again this year. It's the annual tsunami memorial charity event that continued on since 2011, and there will be so many variety of performances, food and goods offered by the... Japanese community. All the donation and sales from this event will be used to run the refreshment / educational program for the children in Fukushima, who have been most affected by the nuclear disaster. We will play our music in the busking style and will donate all the received money for our performance to the organiser Smile With Kids. Please come and join the event to enjoy various aspects of Japanese culture and help support the good cause :) It is on Saturday the 7th of March at Edge Hill State School. See more

12.01.2022 What makes Wa-Band unique? Well, perhaps these Okinawan songs with the traditional string instrument called "Sanshin" make us "Wa"-Band. (One of the meanings of "Wa" is "Japanese style".) Shinta's character, visual and his voice well match with these Okinawan songs and we can't have a live event without one! We try to create an exotic atmosphere by using other okinawan instruments such as the flat drum and the finger whistle. Japanese sound in an Italian restaurant; how unique is that?!
12.01.2022 2:453:25pm This is the stage program for this Saturday’s Japan Day of Hope. Please note that our stage is not the main stage but we’ll perform at the outside sports shed in a busking style. We’ll donate all the coins that you throw for us to Smile With Kids so they can raise money to invite more children from Fukushima to Cairns for the refreshment / educational camp program. Our stage time is 2:45-3:25pm on the program, but it is subject to change with any delay of the main stage program. Please bring your family and friends to enjoy the various Japanese food and culture! It’s on this Saturday the 7th at Edge Hill State School.
09.01.2022 Yoshiki Tanikawa Samba (originally called Matsu-Ken Samba), sung by this crazy entertainer Mr.Tanikawa, brought the event to the climax. The audiences were joining us with tambourines and shakers, and the restaurant owner jumping into the stage with another audience, miraculously synchronising their random dance...! Oh my god, that was so hilariously fun!!!!
09.01.2022 We Are The BOSE BOSE~~! The BOSE; the former band that Ryo used to form with Taku (rap) and Kei(djembe) was back for the night! They sang this amazing original song that they made at the time, which was something very different from what Wa-Band usually sing. This is why we love having guest musicians; they bring a different atmosphere to the stage

03.01.2022 4We Are Wa-Band Our second attempt on the remote gig!! This time each member took a video of themselves and put them together using a movie editter software. We know there are a lot to overcome (such as sound balance, matching the rhythm etc), maybe it's not too bad as our first trial?! Our challenges keep on going. Thank you Ryo for your amazing video editting!
