20.01.2022 Day 1 done and dusted. There was some amazing basketball on display and we had some mixed results for the day. 17s girls were first up and they had a great ba...ttle with Darwin eventually going down by 8 points in the dying minutes 14s boys had an amazing performance, were very sharp and energized and had a huge with against Top end Crocs. 14s girls had a really tough fought win against Darwin trailing for much of the first half before coming home strong and getting the win. Mens 1 started a little slowly but once they found their rhythm they played the way we expect from them and had a very strong win against Townsville. Womens really struggled early to score and found themselves down 10 - 0 at the start against a quality Darwin side. They worked extremely hard and got in front in the dying minutes only to just be overrun by a few points. Mens 2 were up against one of the tournament favorites. They got off to a very slow start. They battled hard to work their way back into the game but got beaten by a better side on the day. Very proud of all their efforts!

13.01.2022 Thunderbolt is recognised for having the longest bushranging career in NSW, but it is unlikely he would have survived for so long without Mary Anns help. She taught the illiterate Thunderbolt to read. She helped provide food and shelter, spread false information to help him stay ahead of the authorities and nursed him back to health after he was shot. Thunderbolt remains a legend, a popular folk hero and major tourist drawcard in New South Wales, where a highway is named in ...his honour. Mary Ann Bugg is less well known and some even say shes been erased from the Thunderbolt legend.
