17.01.2022 These three kittens were taken into foster care by a family. Their caretaker had the idea of putting a toy wrestling ring in front of them to see their reaction.
17.01.2022 Spicks & Specks! ONE YEAR IN CARE!!! (and not one enquiry for them ) When these guys first came into care they were timid and scared but soon warmed up an...d became loving members of the family! They are incredibly bonded - they eat together, play together, sleep together. We would ideally like them to be adopted together! They would suit a quieter household where people understand they need time to get used to you. SPICKS- (aka Buddy) Male, has a beautiful black coat with flecks of white throughout, making him look like a bit of an old man. Bolder than his sister and loves playing, tackling and climbing the cat trees/posts. Loving boy who likes to sleep with you. "Hugs" you with his paws when you pat him. Stands up to meet your hand for pats (because he just cant wait for you to bend down to pat him). SPECKS- (aka Bubby) Female, gorgeous soft, tortoiseshell coat with little "flame" (orange) on tip of her tail. Shy girl but loves getting patted, and running around chasing cat toys and her brother. Obsessed with her mouse toy, carries it around in her mouth, meowing to show you what she "caught". Purrs up a storm when being patted, flops to the floor and rubs herself all over you. Adoption fee is $80 for both - desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and worm/flea treated! Please message us to meet them!
14.01.2022 Hi! My name is Scarlett. Sadly my racing career came to a fast stop when I became seriously injured which resulted in my front right leg being amputated. I am ...currently on the search for my next forever home. I'm rising 3 years old and up to date with vaccines. I love being around people all day and enjoy every bit of attention I can get. I have the sweetest nature but unfortunately due to my previous career I have the typical greyhound instincts, however I am learning to interact with smaller animals. If you would like to meet me, Please contact the girls on 47832911!
13.01.2022 LONG TERM SPECIAL Another really long termer! Miss Eloise! This speckled beauty has been in care for around 2 yrs!!!. She's a content, easy going girl who ...likes the quiet life - snoozing the day away in a nice comfy spot -preferably a lap! If u sit down for a cuppa or to watch tv - she will join you! Best lap warmer ever! She enjoys human company so much - she would suit someone who is home a lot. She has a wonderful, sweet nature and anyone would be lucky to welcome this lady into their family. Adoption fee is only $50 (all vetwork completed). Please msg us for more info or to meet this gorgeous girl! **Please share to help find her perfect home** **Eloise has been diagnosed with chronic bronchitis. While this does not affect her health at all at the moment (besides being a bit huffy sometimes), it may in the future. She will need a home that is financially able and willing to provide medical care should the need arise**

02.01.2022 DIY Fodder system This is SUCH a great idea! Buy three sets of 3-drawer storage bins from Target, BIg W or where ever you can source them. Drill holes in the... bottom of all drawers except very bottom (7cm spacing). Mark each drawer 1cm from the bottom. This is the max fill line for seed. Water top once to twice daily and let water run down through the rest. Empty lower drawer before watering again. Start one drawer each day to have a new flat of fodder every day. www.aussiechooksupplies.com.au
02.01.2022 Judy, a purebred pointer, was the mascot of several ships in the Pacific, and was captured by the Japanese in 1942 and taken to a prison camp. There she met Air...craftsman Frank Williams, who shared his small portion of rice with her. Judy raised morale in the POW camp, and also barked when poisonous snakes, crocodiles or even tigers approached the prisoners. When the prisoners were shipped back to Singapore, she was smuggled out in a rice sack, never whimpering or betraying her presence to the guards. The next day, that ship was torpedoed. Williams pushed Judy out of a porthole in an attempt to save her life, even though there was a 15-foot drop to the sea. He made his own escape from the ship, but was then recaptured and sent to a new POW camp. He didn't know if Judy had survived, but soon he began hearing stories about a dog helping drowning men reach pieces of debris after the shipwreck. And when Williams arrived at the new camp, he said: "I couldnt believe my eyes! As I walked through the gate, a scraggly dog hit me square between the shoulders and knocked me over. Id never been so glad to see the old girl!" They spent a year together at that camp in Sumatra. "Judy saved my life in so many ways," said Williams. "But the greatest of all was giving me a reason to live. All I had to do was look into those weary, bloodshot eyes and ask myself: 'What would happen to her if I died?' I had to keep going." Once hostilities ceased, Judy was then smuggled aboard a troopship heading back to Liverpool. In England, she was awarded the Dickin Medal (the "Victoria Cross" for animals) in May 1946. Her citation reads: "For magnificent courage and endurance in Japanese prison camps, which helped to maintain morale among her fellow prisoners, and also for saving many lives through her intelligence and watchfulness". At the same time, Frank Williams was awarded the PDSA's White Cross of St. Giles for his devotion to Judy. Frank and Judy spent a year after the war visiting the relatives of English POWs who had not survived, and Frank said that Judy "always provided a comforting presence to the families." When Judy finally died at the age of 13, Frank spent two months building a granite and marble memorial in her memory, which included a plaque describing her life story.
