13.01.2022 Update for owners In light of the ever evolving covid-19 crisis Wagin Mobile Veterinary Service regretfully is unable to provide home visits for clients. This difficult decision was made to best protect the health status of all parties involved. In the meantime I will be able to continue to provide vet care for your pets in different forms, mainly via phone, Facetime, and zoom consults, where appropriate. ... Veterinarians are considered an essential service and so for any cases which require physical examination, surgical treatment or emergency treatment, I will still be working in clinic at the Katanning Vet Clinic (alongside our colleagues at the Kojonup Vet Hospital) and thus can treat animals there. We are all taking extra precautions to ensure both clients and animals continue to receive the best care possible. Thank you all for participating in these new measures. Stay safe during this difficult time. Dr Rebecca Wagin Mobile Veterinary Service

05.01.2022 A sad end for this chuditch, predated by a feral cat in Dryandra Woodland. Captured by one of our remote cameras set throughout the reserve, this image highligh...ts the threat to wildlife posed by introduced species such as foxes and feral cats. Chuditch (western quolls) are large native marsupials once found across 70% of Australia, but now only occupy the south-west of WA and in small numbers in SA. Their conservation status is ‘vulnerable’, meaning they are considered to be facing a high risk of extinction in the wild. We’re working hard with landholders, non-government organisations and industry partners to reduce fox and feral cat numbers under our Western Shield wildlife recovery program. You can help by being a responsible pet owner make sure your cat is kept inside at night (even in the city) and ensure it is sterilised, microchipped and registered.
