25.01.2022 Hi everyone, I've just reduced a bunch of our outdoor ceramic pots that have been here for a while. This isn't an official sale, just a handful of pots which I've marked down. So if you're looking for a good bargain and any of these look good to you, come down and grab them! You'll be doing me a favour so I don't have to count them in our stocktake on Monday ... Most of them are at least half price, some even more. Once they're sold, they're gone. Don't miss out!

The Spring we...ather is making our beautiful native plants burst into flower. Got some good photos? 18.01.2022 Now available in tubestock - Alternanthera "Snow on the Mountain" Just $6.99 each! Description: Low-growing, herbaceous perennial with erect stems. Mature leaves are mostly green with irregular whitish patches; young leaves are usually pure white, but occasionally have some small, green spots. ... Uses: This cultivar is grown for its ornamental foliage. The young, white leaves are densely packed near the stem tips and resemble a thick cluster of small, white flowers. Mature leaves are variegated, providing contrast with other green plants. This cultivar is suitable for edging, container plantings and groundcovers. Cultivation: This cultivar is fast-growing. It should be planted in fertile, well-draining soil that is kept moist. Best grown in full sun or partial shade. Feed with a slow-release general purpose fertiliser. Size: Grows 30-45 cm tall and wide. Tubestock come unpotted and must be potted up as soon as you get the plant home. Your tubes will be wrapped in moist tissue paper and placed into a small bag for transport.

08.01.2022 Fleming's Nurseries bare-root trees and shrubs just arrived! For this weekend, you can purchase these trees while bare-rooted. This makes them $30 cheaper per plant than when they are potted up! Bare-rooted trees are also a lot easier to transport (You can easily lift a tree with one hand!) They're dormant, so they're far less likely to suffer transplant shock. There's no mess, and no plastic pot to dispose of after planting. Awesome!... 07.01.2022 Have you ever noticed water dripping from the tips of your indoor (or outdoor) plants? You may find it interesting to know that this isn't water, but is actually xylem sap being forced out of the tips of the plant due to excess water in the root system. This process is called "Guttation". As plants generally don't transpire at nighttime, this builds up pressure in the plant and the sap is forced out through water glands in the tips of the leaves. Certain plants, such as the C...ordylines in these pictures, have adapted to have this feature. This is a natural process in a lot of plants and can be a sign of overwatering in indoor plants. Fear not, as healthy plants will do this too, you may just need to cut back on watering a little bit when you see this happening frequently.
