07.01.2022 A big load of appreciation to @alicejaneboere and everyone else out there just like her doing the #clickforvic thing. We can’t say thank you enough. Your support means the absolute world to us! Repost @alicejaneboere Normally I'm a big daytripper - there's nothing more awesome than going to a town in your state and finding amazing craftwares, foodstuffs, and of course, drinks, that are made by talented, hard-working people. That's obviously been a bit tricky this year. So ...I've been spending quite a bit of time on @clickforvictoria to find places I'd otherwise discover in person, and put money back into communities who normally see significant internal tourism. What's amazed me is how amazing the quality is of everything I've bought (with the exception lf Walkabout, I did not know of the other brands before I came across them, so I was buying on faith - I've actually bought twice from Echuca Distillery, and we ripped through the big bottle of gin otherwise it'd be pictured), but also how consistently lovely the people have been. The inclusion of handwritten thank you notes, or kind email replies has been so unexpected, but has held the tenor of what I enjoy so much about going to various towns; chatting to people as we sample what they've made. It's not quite the same, but if you have the money to spare, I encourage everyone to have a browse on ClickforVic, and buy something you might otherwise get from the supermarket or Dan Murphy's. #visitvictoria #milawagourmetregion #reedandcodistillery #walkaboutapiaries #ivyandvandabeeswaxcandles

06.01.2022 Posted @withregram @thecitylane MELBOURNE / If you're living in Victoria, you've probably heard about @visitmelbourne's recently launched #clickforvic campaign. It's been designed as a way to allow those in Australia, and even those overseas depending on the retailer, to support Victoria's local businesses who are doing it tough in a year marked by bushfires and lockdowns. The combined economic impact on business of these two things is huge. Estimated loss of visitor ...expenditure for 2020 is $22.3 billion, with $7.9 billion of that being in regional Victoria. Many of Victoria's local, independent businesses won't survive this year unless we support them, and Click For Vic aims to make this easier for those who have the capacity it help. It's an online directory featuring an assortment of Melbourne's best restaurants, bars, and cafes, along with producers from across the state. Visit Victoria sent me a selection of these products to help kick start the campaign and spread the word, something which I'm more than happy to do. I've tagged each of the businesses feature in each individual photo, so you can check them out directly if you're keen, and I'll be using the #clickforvic hashtag to help highlight these sorts of businesses in my other posts too. Have you bought something using the Click for Vic website yet? Let me know in the comments below and TAG a friend who wants to help Victoria's independent businesses get through this tough time.
