24.01.2022 Thank you to photographer Sam Levings for capturing this stunning moment of the seasons changing in Victoria's High Country. Soon, we'll once again be able to hike the magnificent Razorback Ridge from Hotham to Mount Feathertop, as well as exploring Mount Buffalo (which you can see here on the horizon). With Spring sunshine now warming us all up again, we're truly excited and thankful to be welcoming back visitors from regional Victoria with the easing of restrictions on Th...ursday. Come #WalkHighCountry and explore the world's best backyard. Photo credit: IG/@samleviings

21.01.2022 As snow falls on Victoria's High Country - an early onset of winter temperatures - we're looking back to last summer to look forward to when we're all allowed to travel again. Set yourself some big hiking goals, taking inspiration from Lotsafreshair's hike across the Bogong High Plains...

20.01.2022 Revisiting one of the most loved walks in Bright - the Canyon Walk. The joy of this trail is the many ways you can walk it. Starting at Star Road in the heart of Bright, you can enjoy a gentle 3km riverside walk loop by crossing at the first suspension bridge. Alternatively, you can try a slightly more challenging 4km walk along the canyon walls if you continue to the second bridge. And then, both of those loops can be reversed for a fresh perspective on this walk. There's an...other option to extend the walk at the second suspension bridge and continue along the Ovens River to the Porepunkah crossing Rail Tail bridge, then return to Bright along the Murray To Mountains Rail Trail. The best part is how the beautiful scenery changes with each season. The Bright Canyon Walk is worth revisiting throughout summer, autumn, winter and spring: https://www.victoriashighcountry.com.au//bright-canyon-wa/

18.01.2022 Come for a walk through Mount Granya State Park, a dominant feature in the Upper Murray landscape. Explore its steep, forested slopes that rise dramatically above Lake Hume and surrounding valleys to form prominent ridges and plateaus. The park has diverse vegetation, spectacular wildflowers, and a number of excellent walks to discover: https://www.walkhighcountry.com.au//mount-granya-state-pa/

18.01.2022 Is there a better set of steps in Victoria's High Country than the steps leading to the summit of Mt Buller? You can experience them via a short walk from the summit car park or via the full 4 km Summit Nature Walk: https://www.walkhighcountry.com.au/list/summit-nature-walk/ Photo credit: IG/@rhyllam_

11.01.2022 Your hiking adventures may be on hold for the moment... but, thankfully, this season of snow lasts much longer than 6 weeks! If we all play our part to slow the spread and stay safe, you'll be able to return to snow covered High Country hiking adventures in no time. We're counting down the days with you! 10.01.2022 So keen to be doing this again... but for now, the message remains the same: stay home and stay safe. Thank you! via IG/@hansav #walkhighcountry

05.01.2022 Located amongst tranquil Australian bush with lush tree ferns, the Bindaree Falls are a short 10 minute walk off Bindaree Road (best accessed in a 4WD vehicle). On a hot day, a walk to Bindaree Falls is like a long, cool drink. This spectacular column of clear water plummets down a rocky cliff and over a viewing platform, which allows you to enjoy the curtain of water cascading from the rocks above. Bindaree Falls is about 1.5 hours outside of Mansfield, past Mt Buller and in... the Mt Stirling area. Photos credit: Mindful Adventures Australia #walkhighcountry

02.01.2022 The iconic Falls to Hotham Alpine Crossing walk received a fantastic funding boost last week, with the State Government announcing that $15 million will go towards works on this spectacular hiking trail. We're excited to see this walk become one of the world's greatest hiking experiences. Thank you to Instagrammers Lauren and Scott for sharing their recent adventures along the 37 kilometres of trail through the Alpine National Park between Falls Creek Resort and Mt Hotham: https://www.walkhighcountry.com.au//falls-to-hotham-alpin/ Photo credits: IG/@laurenandscott_ #walkhighcountry

01.01.2022 Good news today, with hiking back on the agenda for Victorians! It's important to note that you should only be doing so in groups of 10 people or less and within your general local area, not travelling further than a day trip allows. Overnight stays are still not allowed. More at: https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/travel-restrictions-coronavirus Photo credit: IG/@baumanisfelikss at Mt Stirling. #walkhighcountry
