25.01.2022 Very happy to see that although the store has changed hands, Cec Camilleri's sculpture remains and is as whimsical as ever.

25.01.2022 @cornersmith is one of the treasures of #marrickville. An early proponent of reducing food waste and a cheersquad for using sustainable and ethically produced food, their initial foray into a corner cafe in Mville became an institution, not just for their wholesome & delicious food but also for their offer to locals to trade garden excess for coffee vouchers & the like. Turns out local Mvillers have their previous Greek house owners to thank for bountiful citrus trees and plentiful herb shrubs. The Mville cafe sadly closed its doors last year but the Annandale cafe continues and the Pickelery has restarted Covid safe classes. These photos come from the recent pickling class I attended which helped me better understand how to marry flavours with produce to preserve delicious food. Highly recommended @ Marrickville, New South Wales

25.01.2022 Recently I had the pleasure of hosting Joanne of @travelwithjoanne and her friends on a tour. It gave me the chance to try out part of a food tour I'm working on as well as the Mixed Bag tour. We had a blast. Here's her write up: https://www.travelwithjoanne.com/marrickville-sydney/ Joanne's blog is a treasure trove of local knowledge about Sydney suburbs and beyond.

24.01.2022 It's forecast to be a sunny day on Sunday, perfect for an afternoon out exploring Marrickville. Join us on a tour where we'll see #streetartsydney, visit an artists' hub, learn about the #livemusicsydney scene, enjoy a beer at one of the excellent #craftbeer breweries and finish with a visit to a #gindistillery. You'll get a good feel for the place and why #marrickville was voted the 10th coolest neighbourhood in the world! My doggie co-host Gea and I look forward to showing you around. 22.01.2022 This dive bar, influenced by favourite dive bars from home in Peru, hits the spot. Delicious tapas style food, fresh and zingy flavours, great music and their famous Pisco Sour... I'm sold! @ Marrickville, New South Wales

21.01.2022 @cornersmith's Thirsty Work pack + @poortom's Strawberry Gin + Nana's cocktail shaker... not going to lie, I had 3 of these delicious babies last night... a great way to celebrate!

21.01.2022 John Kennedy's 68 Special: back after their Covid hybination and still good Fans of @gasolinepony will notice the new stage location.

21.01.2022 Gea's taking a relaxed approach to 2021. I should take a leaf out of her book... Happy New Year everyone!

20.01.2022 I *occasionally* indulge in cake and my favourite is always with buttercream. For some reason, buttercream cakes are very hard to get these days. Fortunately, @rubylonesome will always have 3 or 4 for indulgence. My trusty partner in cake is always on hand to share. And they're #vegan! @ Ruby Lonesome

20.01.2022 Artists Kev, Tim & Dean collabed on a new mural in the laneway alongside @lazybonesloungemarrickville to celebrate their 7th anniversary. It shows 80's style beat boys (including LZBones owner Craig at the Stage Door) to empower Koori youth and represent love, positivity and community. @ Marrickville, New South Wales

19.01.2022 On a cold and stormy day a trip to Terrigal was a good idea. A yum cha lunch at @yellowtailrestaurant was delicious. There was just enough of a break in the rain for a walk along the beach.

19.01.2022 Here's a first hand account of a recent tour. This one was a hybrid with a few foodie stops before the regular Mixed Bag tour. So much fun, and lots of interesting people and places along the way.

18.01.2022 A perfect afternoon for catching up with friends in a socially distancing, responsible way

17.01.2022 My all time favourite place in Mville for live music has reopened after a bit of a spruce up. @gasolinepony is restarting live gigs you can attend if you're quick. Fewer tickets but 2 sessions will help. Devo that I can't make it but here's a clip from their show there a year ago to tide me over & convince you! quirky | interesting | fun Marrickville

15.01.2022 Treated myself today to a stunning bouquet from @flowersbyteresa: Waratah, ranunculus, blushing bride and magnolia leaves.

14.01.2022 Gorgeous gals discovering the delights of #marrickville on a sunny afternoon

13.01.2022 My lovely guests at my favourite photo spot on the Mixed Bag tour of #marrickville

13.01.2022 This is why I love to bring my guests here on the Mixed Bag Tour. Renee and Jake have set up this great hub for local creatives to sell their work and run workshops for all of us. My hope is that by introducing guests to @hypmotive_hub, they will return to learn new skills, find that unique handmade gift or just enjoy a browse of some fascinating things.

10.01.2022 One of the benefits of doing walking tours in #marrickville is meeting the local food providors and boy, there are a LOT of passionate, small scale producers making thoughtful, sustainable and delicious products. This @keentownproject chutney is one of my favourites and here it's making my BLT sing.

09.01.2022 I introducing my guests to gems in the #marrickville neighbourhood. We took a diversion on Friday to check out @stix_marrickville but it was closed! Luckily we were invited in for a sneak peak, nearly giving the chefs a heart attack that that night's guests were arriving early! Love the philosophy of this place: they grow a lot of their own produce on their #hawksburyriver farm @stix_farm, grow their own mushrooms upstairs and make delicious food to eat in or take away. I've got my eye on their chef's table weekend brunch.

09.01.2022 Gea and I had a great walk through #marrickville yesterday, down to and along the Cook's River. We noticed a lot of low key and well thought out and executed public amenities, from delightful playgrounds, thoughtful creek bed assistance, and even a toilet block with such pizazz! And some thought provoking street messages. @innerwestcouncil staff

07.01.2022 I was thrilled to bring my guests to @featherandboneprovidore whose work and fine produce I greatly admire. Laura (Mrs Feather) told of their work with regenerative farmers who raise their animals on pasture. When the animals are butchered, they arrive whole at F&B where they are dry aged. A slower practice of food production, which results in better quality food, improved soil fertility, a market for rare breeds/heritage livestock and respect for animals

06.01.2022 Back at the Pony JK68CS Comes Alive!

06.01.2022 Christening our new garden, Italian style Thanks for joining us guys, thanks to @isabeau_a for the MOST delicious @aperolspritzau and @paesanella_haberfield for delicious cheese

05.01.2022 Of course Gea got to have some Christmas pork, veg & gravy... she is such a good girl

03.01.2022 What lies within?

02.01.2022 According to @timeoutsydney Marrickville is the tenth coolest neighbourhood in the world... We already knew that Want to see what all the fuss is about? See my bio to book a 3 hour tour and I'll show you the best #marrickville has to offer: where to see #livemusic, the coolest #breweries, fabulous #food and why locals have such a great lifestyle.

01.01.2022 An orchid pop up on Marrickville Road. @ Marrickville, New South Wales
