18.01.2022 "This book addresses the history of hydrogeological events in the Dolomite mountains and, more broadly, how our cultural memories of such incidents are shaped. The publication explores how human habitation persists in locations that have established patterns of landslides, floods, and other such possible catastrophes. The work comprises a blend of research and archival images, texts, and recent photographs woven together to address the themes of Destruction, Protection, Exper...ience, and Resilience in areas with centuries-long cycles of human vulnerability in the face of natural disasters. ‘Are They Rocks or Clouds’ balances information, history and visual pleasure as the reader is asked to confront the risks we take, as humans, in our effort to live comfortably while also pushing the limits of how we interact with the natural world." https://fw-books.nl//marina-caneve-are-they-rocks-or-clo/

08.01.2022 "The town of Fuefuki in Yamanashi Prefecture serves as the location for Takuro Yoneda’s photobook Maruishigami (lit.: round stone gods). Yoneda wandered the city in search of maruishigami, round stones which each enshrine a different god. The stones range from small ones that fit into the palm of one’s hand to large boulders over a meter big. More than 700 of these are said to be found here, in front of temples and shrines, in gardens, on top of walls, lying in meadows ...or placed into wells. Yoneda found 650 of these stones and recorded them in photographs. A selection of one hundred, printed on postcards and collected in a box, comprises his photobook Maruishigami. The photos show the wide diversity both of the stones themselves and the locations in which they are found. Not much is know about the origins of this practice, and the enshrined gods are neither traditional shinto gods nor found in buddhist teachings. Together with a map on which Yoneda marked the location of each found stone (and an extensive essay in Japanese), Maruishigami allows its readers to follow the beautiful traces of a peculiar rite around the town of Fuefuki." https://pg-web.net/shop/pg-kula/maruishigami/#

Geometrically well designed, his photographs are a vivid reinterpretation of high-density cities in Asia. Hashtagging and index curation by architects LIM Jeeseon and JUN Hyunbai add another ‘flavor’ to the photographs. A number of snapshots collected by CHOI while locating ‘photogenic’ places on 3D Map are included, whose meaning is addressed by the critic KIM Jihoon. " https://www.shashasha.co/en/book/location
