16.01.2022 A road trip making deliveries this week took us up a road we haven’t travelled for almost 20 years. Travelling from the midlands across towards Tasmania’s east coast and we came across this stunning colonial gem in Avoca. Built c1850 and still standing proudly, we just had to stop and admire for a few minutes.

11.01.2022 Locally in antiques nothing is more Tasmanian than a great piece of Huon Pine. With trees on average growing just 1mm in girth per year, it is one very slow growing tree. With some trees up to 2500 years old (yes that is correct) they are now protected and have not been cut down since the 1970’s. It is only found on the island of Tasmania and is widely known as one of the best boat making timbers in the world. Recently arrived at Walter and Co is this magnificent c1870’s chest with wonderful colour and some of the better birds eye features you are likely to see.
