20.01.2022 As part of Education Week and National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day our Didgeridoo group have been working hard to showcase their skills... led by Ritchie. The boys are proud of their development and reflected on how far they have come in the past three terms. This year’s theme for National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day is We are the Elders of tomorrow, hear our voice. This fits wonderfully with our boys learning to play the didgeridoo and being proud of their culture. Once again, we thank Ritchie Lawton for making this program possible! See more

16.01.2022 We are disappointed to announce that due to the ongoing impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the decision that the proposed NSW Pathways Program will not be conducted this year. We have the safety of the candidates, their families, mentors, our staff, service providers and all involved as our first priority and have arrived at this decision on the basis of current guidance from State and Federal health departments. Approximately 40 people had registered an intere...st in the Program and we’ve greatly appreciated their understanding as we work through the challenges presented by the pandemic. Glencore remains committed to rolling out the NSW Pathways Program in 2021, and we will continue to work behind the scenes with our staff and service providers to be ready to commence in 2021. We will also re-open for new applications in advance of the 2021 Program. We will announce the dates calling for applications later in 2020 or early 2021. Current applications will held on file, and those applicants will remain in consideration for the 2021 Program. 14.01.2022 For many people the festive season is a time to celebrate with friends and family but for others, the pressure in the lead up to Christmas and New Year can be e...specially stressful. Ungooroo has launched a new mental wellness and suicide prevention, Kawuma-Miruma, meaning 'to gather together and take care of,' to support the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of Singleton and Muswellbrook. Our Aboriginal Mental Health workers, Lee-Anne and Corey, can help if you are feeling overwhelmed and need support. Make sure you take some time out to look after yourself over the Christmas and New Year break. To have a yarn with Lee-Anne or Corey, call 6571 5111 Please understand this is NOT a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or require support after hours, please call 000 or one of the crisis lines listed here https://www.ungooroo.com.au/suicide-prevention/

11.01.2022 Learn how to help your mob and provide counselling and referral services to clients with alcohol and other drugs issues. The aim of these scholarships is to increase the capacity of the Aboriginal workforce to work in Alcohol and Other Drugs Sector in order to increase access to drug and alcohol treatment services for Aboriginal people. This will ultimately improve treatment and prevention outcomes for Aboriginal people. HNECCPHN will therefore cover the training costs for t...he delivery of these units for those that live within their geographic boundary. Please refer to this page for eligible areas bit.ly/39FEzQo Please refer to the attached flyer for more information. Please call 4969 9511 to find out more about the course.
