25.01.2022 Great old video! Luckily we do things a bit easier nowadays.

24.01.2022 Did you know that pollen grains from different plants look different? Palynology is the study of pollen grains and is used in geology, archaeology and honey ide...ntification! Below is an image of some of the pollens found in WA, courtesy of research into honey bee nutrition being done by the Honey Bee Products CRC and ChemCentre.

23.01.2022 Recently WAPureHoney participated in the first WA Artisans Food Hub display of local products in Northbridge- great opportunity to display our wares, network and meet new friends! 14.01.2022 FACT or FAD FOOD Friday! Can I still eat HONEY....Honey? Wow what a week for the honey industry, let me set some facts straight before you deny yourself your cr...umpet with the drizzly good (healthy?) stuff. Yes of course you can! Here are some fab LOCAL HONEY facts! Did you know that honey has anti-microbial qualities, contains antioxidants and small amounts of vitamins and minerals? Consuming local raw honey is believed to help seasonal allergies, due to repeated exposure to the pollen in the area? One of WA's local and trusted honey Producers is Matt Colvin (Beekeeper). He knows exactly whats in his raw and local honey, so why not shop local & grab some today www.wapurehoney.com. But, don't forget honey is still a form of raw sugar, so make sure you eat it in moderation! ps. Honey should never be given to young infants as it can cause botulism, a rare but severe type of food poisoning.#nutritionist #perthnutritionist #dietitian #perthdietitian

13.01.2022 It’s a bit warm this week so our bees are hanging around outside on their verandas Much smarter than us melting in our bee suits!

13.01.2022 bee-sy week this week moved 3 of our loads of bees to the avocados for pollination. All nighters to make this essential work happen, and greeted with more amazing mornings. So next time you eat an avocado remember it wouldnt be there without the bees working hard over the next 2months! https://www.agric.wa.gov.au//growing-avocados-flowering-po

12.01.2022 Happy World Bee Day! This is the first ever World Bee Day. The day was declared by the UN General Assembly in December last year to raise awareness of the importance of bees to humanity. If we wipe out the bees, we lose more than 75% of our food, we die.

10.01.2022 Our water gauge sensor mounted on 205ltr drum- easy to set up and keeps you updated on how much water the bees have- even in the middle of nowhere... Web login, phone/email alerts

08.01.2022 Honey is a better treatment for coughs and colds than antibiotics, and is Definitely nicer to Take!

04.01.2022 Did you know that as of the July 1 2018 all foods will be required to meet new country of origin labeling requirements? The new requirements make it simpler to ...see at a glance whether the product you are buying is Australian. To make it easy for everyone to understand, the 3 new types of country of origin labels which will be found on honey are shown on this poster. The most important thing to remember is that even if the honey is made up of 99% Australian product it will be unable to display the kangaroo logo, so by buying honey that displays the kangaroo you can be assured that your honey is 100% Australian.

03.01.2022 RAW HONEY AND BEE POLLEN FOR POLLEN ALLERGIES This may sound counterintuitive but bee pollen can actually soothe your pollen allergies. Bees collect pollen fro...m local plant life and infuse it with enzymes to create honey, so consuming small amounts of local honey and bee pollen can actually help to ease allergy symptoms. Think of it as a mini vaccine for your immune system. You consume small, digestible amounts of the irritant to allow your body to build up an immunity. Locally-sourced honeys and bee pollens work best (as they help you build up a tolerance to the native plants in your area), but regional and sustainably-sourced bee products can be supportive, too.
