25.01.2022 Before and After. My French Glitz before braiding and all braided and looking so pretty. This is a blend of Ramboulliet,Black Merino,Tussah Silk and Trilobal Nylon all hand dyed. 24.01.2022 Ok folks life for Waratah Fibres is still a bit hit and miss. Haven't really got my dye mojo totally back. Have been struggling bit with my health and then I have done something to my knee so walking has been a slight challenge. But for the most I am OK and just need to get my act together. These are a new mini skein set which go from a dark purple brown to light then light gold yellow thru to dark gold yellow with speckles of purple, yellow and brown. I have called them Wo...mbat Hollow. 10 x 20gm mini skeins of Sock yarn. They aren't on the web site yet but hopefully they will be soon. If you can't wait to give these a new home message me. They will be $50. Also I have reduced some of the older stock on my website. So far it is Merino Braids that have been reduced. Why dont you stop by and snag a bit of a bargain. Like is in my bio. 18.01.2022 Ok Folks there has been some technical hitches and some physical ones as well. For some reason the 10% code fibrefest2020 is not working. But don't worry I will refund all orders made yesterday . Also the postage is also not right. So when I post your parcels either Monday or Tuesday I will refund the difference if you have been over charge. Then to top all that I have a few health problems and they reared yesterday afternoon so I spent all afternoon being violently ill. N...ot the way I had intended to spend my afternoon I can assure you. 12.01.2022 I may have started another shawl. Can't help myself. This is @ambahobrien Woollsia shawl . Using some colours left over from a couple of other projects. All hand dyed but probably won't use 12 colours as in pattern. I am just using up each colour and then fading into next colour. A very easy pattern and I seem to be getting along quite well instead of finishing a pair of odd socks, a beanie and another #Mapleton scarf from @addydae_designs all in progress at the moment. 12.01.2022 Coffee and getting ready to twist some skeins of Donegal Tweed 4ply in readiness for the dye pot. These are going to be tonal. Already done 10 ,these are the next 10. I am not a production dyer but very much a small batch dyer . Hopefully 2 of each colour will happen today. I have some Donegal Tweed in DK weight also but haven't decided what I am doing with that yet. There is only 20 skeins so not sure if I will do 5 skeins of 4 colour's or my usual 2 . Anyway thought I would have a go at @westknits Slipstravaganza this year. If I fall behind well so be it. I have done a bit of deep stash diving. Not totally sure of one of my colour choices. 04.01.2022 I have just found these. I dyed them ages ago and then they got shoved in a box. They are Donegal Tweed DK. There are 6 skeins of the First Colour but only 2 of the 2nd. They are 100gm skeins with 212 metres per 100gms. They are$23 for each skein but if you would be interested in buying the 6 skeins I will do them for $120 a saving of $18. Not sure I will do this yarn again, trying to focus on Aussie yarn but my love of English yarns tends to be hard to leave behind. 02.01.2022 Been trying to get my #slipstravaganzamkal finished. I am finally on the Icord bind off. This is the first time I have done a @westknits Mkal and one of his designs. It was really enjoyable and loved every minute though I found the 900 odd stitches a bit of a slog at times. This week has been a bit of a challenge due to my health but hope to get this monster off the needles soon. 02.01.2022 I have just realised I never posted to let you know about Waratah Fibres Fibre Fest draw. The lucky recipient was Kathryn Mcnarmara. It was a 6 x 50gm gradient on DK weight yarn. I called it Salmon Gum and love it but not sure I will repeat it . Maybe take a couple of the shades as new tonals. I have to admit I am a bit out of sorts with things at the moment and my dyeing of fibre and yarn is not getting my full attention.
