21.01.2022 Beware of the dog poop! Last week I literally slipped in a pile of whilst coaching one of my junior athletes and strained my left hammy. A funny but true story! The art of listening to your body for fewer injuries and greater athletic progress is a topic we’ve been speaking to many of our athletes about in recent weeks. Training for performance there is a fine line and getting the balance right comes down to correct programming, individual experience and maturity. If s...omething doesn’t feel right then it probably isn’t. Talk with your coach immediately and work out an appropriate action plan as early intervention from a healthcare professional is key! It’s all about the bigger picture and athlete longevity so as much as a DNF sucks, pulling out of the local @warringahtriclub race was a smart decision and then getting straight in to see @squareonephysio to get back on track.... maybe it’s time I also get my eyes checked

20.01.2022 Postponed then cancelled races and closed QLD borders were never going to stop the drive and determination of Iron virgin Josh in pursuing his dream of becoming an Ironman which was the catalyst from which Ward Coaching Coronaman 2020 was born With an extremely challenging course- 3.8km swim in a tough swell at Mona Vale beach, 180km cycle to Peats Ridge and back with 2500m+ elevation, finishing with a tough but scenic 42.2km run along the beautiful northern bea...ches with a Manly beach finish. The day was bigger and more eventful than any of us could have imagined- juggling mobile bike support and aid stations, child minding, shark scares (), arctic conditions and crazy winds to add to the already epic challenge! Like they say Teamwork makes the dream work - our whole tribe came together to play their part, swimming, riding, running and achieving their own personal goals as well as supporting to make this an exceptional day. Due to the most recent cancellation of Ironman WA we had a last minute contender with Dave to give us two Coronaman champions and we couldn’t be prouder of theirs and the whole team's achievements A huge thank you to all our incredible athletes and friends who got behind Josh and helped us to deliver this memorable day.
