23.01.2022 So this time last week WHC was wrapping up day 2 of the Callcup ride On the last weekend of October, six riders from Manjimup, Pemberton, Margaret River and Boyup Brook, enjoyed a 2 day ride and camp over at Callcup Farm, a property deep in the karri forest set on the banks of the Warren River. Riders could choose from a 14km, 10km and 8km route. The weather was perfect, the tracks fabulous and the company delightful. Thank you to all who came along. Have you met Cathy? She... is one of our life time members. Here's a few words from the lady herself I've been involved with the Warren Horsemen's Club since the early 2000s. I have always loved the family atmosphere, friendship, fun and variety within the Club. I had a 6 year stint on the Committee between 2003 - 2009, first as Vice President, and later as Secretary. Organising the Annual Long Weekend Ride in September has always involved a lot of work for the WHC Committee, but it is extremely satisfying and rewarding to see so many horse riders coming from near and far to enjoy a fun weekend of trail riding and socialising. Over the past 20 years, I have seen the Club go through many changes and the inevitable ups and downs of a sporting club. As a long standing member, I’m both pleased and proud that it has survived the passage of time and continues to provide a range of activities and opportunities for the local equestrian community. I am lucky to live in an area with no shortage of beautiful scenery and great tracks to ride. I love using my horse to move cattle on our farm, and although I've had a go at campdrafting in the past, I think my competition days are over and I'm happy simply riding for pleasure. A massive thanks Cathy for organising this awesome ride. Look out for next Callcup crowd pleasing ride.

21.01.2022 Ok riders.. the weather forecast is getting better and better for the long weekend ride! Bring on the sunshine. A few last minute tips.. the location is really easy. Just put 11 Wheatley Coast Road, Quinninup in your maps. There is a very clear sign to Quinninup directly off the south west hwy. Then a very clear sign ‘Eco Park’. You can’t miss it! 11.01.2022 Every year the WHC is lucky enough to be sponsored by Anthea at Comfort Bits. If anybody has a comfort bit, they will know how much their horse loves it! Anthea has a wide selection of bits to choose from and can provide a consult in order to help choose the best bit for yourself and your horse. There are two bits pictured below that are available via auction (online) through this post. Simply state what bit and how much $. The highest bid wins the bit! ... Please note that the design of these bits makes them slightly larger than your standard snaffle. Therefore if your horse generally takes a 5.5 inch bit, they would be a 5 inch in these bits. RRP value of the bits are $90 each. Bidding ends 18 October 5pm.

10.01.2022 WARREN HORSEMEN’S CLUB QUINNINUP RIDE WAS A HUGE SUCCESS (25 th -27 th September) The Warren Horsemen’s Club (WHC) committee would like to express their gratitude to all riders, horses and participants who attended this year’s September long weekend trail ride held in Quinninup. Our Club received some awesome feedback from riders near and far who attended. The stunning scenery, wildlife, timbered wetlands and our local karri forests were memories not to be forgotten. The wild... stormy Saturday afternoon certainly woke us all up with 39 ml falling in 2 hrs swags floating on campsites and horses swimming in their yards, making the day even more memorable. The WHC would like to thank the Quinninup Eco Caravan Park for their spectacular facilities - accommodating over 55 riders and their horses for the weekend. The newly rebuilt www.facebook.com/quinninuptavern provided a delicious Saturday night dinner and venue for the nail biting auction, presented by the brilliant and entertaining Stu Hutchinson. Local musician Steve Vidovich created the perfect atmosphere for celebrating the club and rider’s comradery. A massive shout out to the local businesses who sponsored the event. Their generosity was greatly appreciated and assisted the club in raising a substantial amount of funds. Their support with donations year after year is unwavering. Other businesses from far and wide also assisted with auction items, raffles and prizes. The committee would like to thank the Forest Products Commission ( www.facebook.com/fpcwa/) , the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (https://www.dbca.wa.gov.au/ )and local farmers for allowing trail access to their properties to ride. The tracks were stunning this year and the sudden down pour of rain only added to their beauty, with many riders and horses enjoying the creek crossings. Our club will be hosting our annual ride in September 2021 and we hope to see you all again for our next trail ride adventure. Please follow our Warren Horsemen’s Club facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/warrenhc ) for future events, held on a monthly basis. If you would like to join our club, please like our facebook page, email us on [email protected] or phone our President Jane Bentley on 0414252818. Good luck to everyone, stay safe and see you soon!!!!!
