Mixed media, found objects, 78 x 40cm. $425 (Sold) Proceeds support WDEA Enterprises Artlink Studio.... __ Carol Altmann is an influential, award winning, journalist and author. On her return six years ago, she was disturbed to discover that the powerless in Warrnambool were not being given a voice. This led her to set up as an online investigative journalist. ‘The Terrier’ was born. ‘The Terrier’ has amassed a huge following, it leaves no stone unturned, passes on important information to the community, and holds the powerful corrupt to account. It takes us to places very few of us are prepared to go. This is true leadership. Carol always has a twinkle in her eye, a ready laugh, a quick wit, a big heart and very thick skin. When I approached Carol regarding being a subject for The Warrnibald she said, On one condition, no fancy frames, just pop me in a cardboard box so I did.

17.01.2022 For anyone wanting to work among artworks and artifacts - now might be your chance. In a double win for regional Victoria, new jobs will be created while boosti...ng the cultural sector. As part of the Working for Victoria infinitive, jobseekers will be employed across 13 galleries and museums to assist with digitising collections. Warrnambool Art Gallery - a local participant in the scheme - will have spots for people to be trained as Digitising Officers. The included training will focus on cataloging using the Victorian Collections system, collection management, object handling, and digitisation of objects. For people and sectors hit hardest, collaborations such as these deliver important opportunities for those who have lost their jobs, and provide new tools while we re-open communities to the public.
