24.01.2022 - : Since the Victorian Premier’s announcement of the ‘Roadmap’ last Sunday 6 September, Bowls Victoria and all other sports have been seeking clar...ity on what the planned Roadmap means for community sport. Through a range of meetings and conversations with Government this week, we are still yet to be informed of any further detail or potential for play. This has particular relevance for Regional Victoria who will reach Step 2 (or 3) before Metropolitan Melbourne. We will continue to liaise with Government about when we can return to play, and numbers of players permitted, etc. We understand they are under extreme pressure with all industries seeking advice, but we will keep you updated as soon as we know more. 24.01.2022 Following the Victorian State Government’s planned lifting of COVID-19 restrictions yesterday (Monday May 11) and after further discussion with Sport & Recreati...on Victoria, Vic Sport and Bowls Australia, the following information lists the measures to ensure that we can return to the sport that we all enjoy from Tuesday May 12 at 11:59pm through to Sunday May 31 (pending further announcements from the State Government). The sole priority at this point in time is to provide safe social opportunities to play Bowls. We want Bowlers to start to socially connect with others in small groups, practicing Bowls. Bowls Victoria will continue to liaise with the Victorian State Government, Vicsport & Bowls Australia to provide specific advice for Bowlers for the month of June. 15.01.2022 Dear Warrnambool Bowls Club Members, I would like to thank everyone that has supported the Club over the 6 + weeks. It was great to have everyone back, moving towards some sort of normality in these crazy times. We have been adopting the government's requirements during the pandemic to ensure our members and staff are kept safe. New restrictions can be imposed quickly so we try not to get too comfortable and plan too far ahead.... Unfortunately, we will be closing the doors again at the Warrnambool Bowl Club tomorrow (Thursday, 5th August), due to stage 3 restrictions being reapplied to regional Victoria by Premier Daniel Andrews. At the moment it appears the closure will be for a minimum of 6 weeks. We will let you know when we are up and running again and will keep you updated via email and our other social channels. 05.01.2022 Today the Victorian government has made the decision to tighten the restrictions instead of easing them as of Monday. This means we will not be able to proceed with opening the venue in the way we originally intended. Our team will be gathering to go over the changes in what we can and can't do and work out a new plan to get people back into the venue.... This is unfortunate news, I know so many of you were looking forward to getting back to some level of normality and I feel your frustrations. The Club has decided to continue to increase the jackpot by $100 each week the draw is not held, which is currently at $1100 this week.
