24.01.2022 REGIONAL RELAY RECAP! What a great day! Beautiful weather A decent track to run on & lots of fun had by all our warrnambool kids!... U should be all super proud of urselves. Every team entered, has progressed through to States in at least one (if not 2-3) events! U9 boys U9 girls U10 girls U10 mixed U11 boys U11 mixed U12 girls U14 boys Also special mention to Lynley & Ryder who ran in events for WCR, & hav both come away with a few medals Thank u so much to all the age group managers & all the parent helpers. Im so proud of all the kids, they all did amazingly!! And our baton changes were on point! Ill be in touch in coming days re. State relay info. As for now Lauren

23.01.2022 NOTICE OF AGM WARRNAMBOOL LITTLE ATHLETICS CENTRE The Annual General Meeting of Little Athletics will be held on Wednesday 28 October, 2020 at 6.00pm at Brauerander Park outside, with provision to dial in via Zoom.... If you have an interest in helping out on the committee or having your say on the operations of the Centre please register your intent to attend by email to [email protected] . All positions for Warrnambool Little Athletics Committee will be declared vacant and nominations are now being sought for season 2020/21. The Nomination form and Agenda will be emailed to all members.

23.01.2022 Friday night rain forecast?? Little Aths must be back on. Yep. This Friday, Jan 31.... Its been great to see so many Little Aths kids participating in so many events over the holidays. Surf T Surf, Nippers,, Basketball, Triathlons, AV Country Champs, VAL Gift races and Dance concerts to name a few. School athletics days will be on soon. Time to hone your skills. 19.01.2022 The Warrnambool Tri Club are hosting a mini-tri series starting this Thursday. A great intro with achievable distances for most. Compete as a family or with your friends, or against your family and friends. Or just come and have some fun and fitness.

12.01.2022 The final program for the year! We have a number of teams competing at the Little Aths State Relay Championships in Melbourne this weekend. Congratulations and enjoy the experience. Special thanks to Lauren our Team Manager. A fantastic achievement by Grace Kelly last weekend! Competing in the All Schools National Championships in Perth, Grace ran PBs in both the 100m and 200m sprints claiming the Silver Medal in the 100. ... We wish everyone a safe and festive Xmas and New Year. Back on the track January 31, 2020. We will be holding our end of season presentations at the conclusion of the night's competition. We anticipate the evening will conclude by 7.30pm.... 09.01.2022 With State Relay Champs in Melbourne tomorrow and a lot of other events on, we'll be missing a few key personnel tonight. We'll need help with starting, timing and recording on the track and we'll need some extra age group leaders/helpers. Don't be shy! Step forward tonight.

06.01.2022 Season Update Many families have been asking about Little Athletics this season. The good news is that the Warrnambool LAC committee has been working hard planning how we can commence our season and get the kids back to the track (and field), in a Covid safe and compliant way.... This is where we are at; We hope to commence our Friday night competition on November 20 and plan to have four nights before xmas and six in the new year. Registrations are not open yet as we need to determine our capacity to provide a safe and fun season. To comply with return to play protocols the first four Friday nights will be as follows; Maximum group size will be 10 children, plus helpers Children will be allocated to a group in which they must stay for the night We may combine age and gender groups We may have to cap registration numbers Priority will be given to families that indicate they can fulfil key helper roles Each child must have a nominated parent/guardian in attendance at the event No spectators (only one parent/guardian is permitted per child) An additional parent can be assigned to a general helper role Depending on numbers we will likely be running two sessions 4.45-5.45 and 6.00-7.00 with the younger age groups in the early one We plan to do 3 events per night (2 track, 1 field or 1 track, two field) We may have an additional optional midweek session for distance events for U9 U16 All attendees (adults and kids) will need to register their attendance each night All adults need to wear masks All children 12+ will need to wear masks when not competing All children need to be fully paid up or registered as a trialling member (if new to Little Aths) There will be no refunds if competition is cancelled due to weather, Covid contraints or other unforeseen circumstances, but Little Athletics Victoria will be offering a 15% discount for returning families We will all need to be flexible, things may change You are able to assist us by letting us know if can commit to any of the following roles for the first 4 weeks (by email to [email protected], by text to 0417786481 or FB inbox). We need to fill these roles to be able confirm the season and open registrations. Group leader (each group of 10 will need an Adult Leader) Field event assistant (8) Track assistant (8) Covid safe officer (4) - assisting with our protocol compliance Hopefully we can get enough support get the season up and running!

For our athletes who are competing @ the regionals in Ballarat, feel free to borrow one of our club jackets for the event. Please see Julia or Cindy @ the office on Friday night. TEAM MANAGER REQUIRED :... Im in need of one person to help me out with the team managers role for the upcoming regional event in Ballarat 15-16th feb. I will do all the organising, duty rosters etc... in the lead up to regionals, i mainly just need someone to take on the role for Sunday 16th 9-2pm. No experience necessary, i promise its an easy role! Working with childrens check is required. Bonus being volunteering for this role, will get u excused from my dreaded duty roster!! 03.01.2022 Unfortunately, the Little Athletics state championships have been postponed due the coronavirus. Regardless, these youngsters had been doing some great work to support each other this summer.

03.01.2022 WELL DONE! Big congratulations to all our superstar little athletes who competed in the Western Country Regionals in Ballarat over the wend. So many great results! Pbs, medals, fun & an awesome experience for u all!... Special mention to 2 of our athletes who broke WCR records in their choosen events - Geordie Rollings (u11 discus) Grace Kelly (u14 100 & 200m) Thank u to all the parents who supported & helped out over the wend. And a huge THANK U to Grant Howland for taking on Team Manager! U smashed it!! Made my job super easy!! 02.01.2022 Congratulations to all our Little Athletes who represented Warrnambool yesterday @ the State Relay Championship U all did the club proud! Such an invaluable experience to compete on the big stage in Melbourne. Lots of PBs ran, great sportsmanship shown, no batons dropped and most importantly, lots of fun had! ... Big THANK U to all the parents, grandparents, family & friends that made the huge drive to Casey Fields to support ur child.
