23.01.2022 It was a emotional farewell this morning... I have loved my work and what we have done for the store. We have met some amazing people in the community and feel very close to a lot of you. The 12 1/2 years we have been there has been an awesome journey with some great challenges. Garry and I both wish you all the best and would love to catch up or visit you again in the future. Love Lyn and Garry
23.01.2022 Garry and I have been deeply moved by the messages from people. We are simply overwhelmed by how we have appeared to have touched peoples lives. We had no idea how most of you felt for us. The love and support we have received has now had us question if we made the right decision and should have left. We want to apologise to all the people we never got to say good bye to and hope to see you some time in the New Year. Alpurrurulam was a big part of our life and will always hold a place in our hearts. Love Garry and Lyn
22.01.2022 Hello Alpurrurulam ... Well time is getting near for that big day we all look forward to. 57 Days to go and the store will be putting on another wonderful Christmas party Please note, only kids on the list that is displayed in the store will be receiving presents. If you live in Alpurrurulam and your child attends school here and they are not on the list, please come and see Lyn to add their name. ** Please NO DRUNKS, this is a night for the kids, a chance for them to see that big jolly man in that red suit ** Thank you - Management

16.01.2022 This afternoon, Barkly Regional Council CEO Steve Moore and I attended an Emergency Management briefing at the Tennant Creek Police Station. The latest report...s from the Bureau of Meteorology indicate that there has been rainfall of up to 100 mm in the Barkly and up to 80 mm in the western Georgina River recorded in the past 24 hours. Locations in the Barkly region still affected include Ali Curung, Ampilatwatja, Arlparra and Alpurrurulam. In Tennant Creek the Evacuation Centre at the High School remains open however the Emergency Shelter at the Civic Hall has now closed. Difficult road conditions continue in many parts of the Barkly region as a result of the recent rain and at this stage the following roads remain closed: - Austral Downs Road from Barkly Hwy intersection to the Sandover Hwy intersection - Barkly Stock Route - Kurundi Road from Stuart Highway to Canteen Creek turnoff - Murray Downs Road from Ali Curung to Elkedra turnoff - Ranken Road from Barkly Hwy intersection to Tablelands Hwy intersection - Sandover Highway from Arlparra Store to the Queensland Border - Tablelands Highway - Taylors Creek Road from Stuart Highway to Murray Downs and Elkedra Road Once again, on behalf of our Council, I thank all of the Northern Territory Police, Fire and Emergency Services, the Northern Territory Government agencies and everyone from the non-government sector including Australian Red Cross and The Salvation Army NT who are out and about volunteering their time to support our community. - Steven Edgington

13.01.2022 Well done Shericka ... so proud of you, and you should be so proud of yourself. You are an inspiration to us all.
13.01.2022 Yet again the store has been broken into, this is getting out of hand. The damage and the cost of the damage is outrageous. In one of the photos you will see a $500 neon screen laying on the floor, and that’s only the start of it. There is a $100 cash reward for the name of this person in the footage attached. This person is going to be charged. Too often the police can’t be bothered cause it’s too far to come and then nothing gets done about it and they always get away with it. Well enough is enough we are over all these break ins. Not only does it keep us up for the rest of the night, we are then expected to open up and work all day. It’s just about the same time in the morning. PLEASE NOTE CASH AND CIGARETTES ARE ALL LOCK AWAY EVERY NIGHT IN THE SAFE. So stop looking for them, you won’t get them. Other photos in comments
13.01.2022 New works going on to end the year. New fence should be up by the end of next week. The guys worked late last night to get the concrete down as the temperature was too hot in the day. It’s all looking good this morning.

02.01.2022 In this hot weather that we seem to be having here that has been relentless, please think about your dogs and animals. Please think twice before bringing your dogs out to the shop and walking them on that hot ground. Please do not leave your dogs in hot cars. Please make sure you have lots of water out for them. If you think it is too hot for you, imagine how much hotter it is for your animals.
