23.01.2022 R U OK? Today is our national day of action, where we remind ourselves that every day is a day we can start a conversation with Are you OK?, if someone in our life is struggling with life’s ups and downs. We need to remove the stigma around mental health struggles. It’s OK not to be OK, and it’s always OK to talk about it.

23.01.2022 Nothing says it’s Spring! quite like a gorgeous duckling! This little precious baby (native Wood Duck) was found orphaned and has been passed onto a wildlife carer

21.01.2022 Have you seen the short list of the BBC's 2020 Comedy Wildlife Photo awards? Guaranteed to make you smile! Which one is your favourite? https://www.bbc.com/news/in-pictures-54118899

11.01.2022 GRASS SEEDS. Over the past several weeks, we’ve treated many pets for grass seeds. We’ve pulled them from stomachs, throats, ears, noses and cut them out where they have buried under the skin. These sharp seeds easily penetrate tissue and their wispy ends make it impossible for them to travel backwards. They just keep burrowing deeper forwards. Grass seeds are always an issue in Perth between September and February. Please keep your pets away from these grasses, and mow your back yards if you have these there. If your pet has long fur, ideally cut it short and check paws after every walk.

09.01.2022 Massive apologies to everyone. We had a power surge last night and it has fried our computers. We have had no computers all day and they are unlikely to be back up and running until tomorrow afternoon. Please be patient with us! We don't want computer issues to interfere with our care for our patients, so we will definitely see pets as walk ins, perhaps though if you could postpone non urgent visits such as nail trims and annual vaccines until we're back up and running. We currently have no way of knowing what appointments are booked in, or surgeries. We understand how frustrating this is and are sorry if we have not called you back yet. As you can appreciate it has been rather hectic! We will keep you posted.

09.01.2022 HAPPY VET NURSE DAY!! Our nurses hate being photographed, but we are posting this photo anyway because we want to shout from the roof tops how amazing they are! Our clinic literally cannot run without them. They schedule the day, patiently provide lots of telephone advice, help gently restrain and reassure patients, take blood, run blood tests, set up IV fluids, administer treatments, monitor anaesthetics, alert the vets when they think patients need attention or more pain relief, discharge surgical patients home, and perform routine consultations such as wound checks and nail trims! You are all beyond amazing and our clinic would not function without you

08.01.2022 Any of our lovely clients in the market for a new kitten? She is being fostered by our ex vet nurse (and occasional casual), Kate Kate assures us that this little girl who has been through so much in her short time is adorable. https://www.facebook.com/1472015063016173/posts/2650891978461803/

04.01.2022 We had a very special case this week. Little Peggy was surrendered to us with some serious injuries, at 10 days of age and weighing just 172 grams. Have a read of how Dr Fiona and Kate worked together to give her a best chance at life

04.01.2022 Gorgeous Queenie and Coco both came in today for dental work. They were a pleasure to look after, and so bonded, with Coco looking after her big brother!

03.01.2022 Gorgeous Suki and Jack both came in to have dental treatment today! They were star patients

03.01.2022 Diego woke up so happy and smoochy from his desexing! @wa_pet_project

01.01.2022 This gorgeous juvenile sea gull was found being pecked by other gulls at a cafe. He’s just learning to fly, but the adult birds saw him as competition for food! He has been passed to WA Seabird Rescue, where he will be rehabilitated and released
