20.01.2022 Contrary to popular belief Rolex in fact make an (in-house) quartz movement for their Rolex Oyster range. This was in the late 80's early 90's. In my 40 plus years as a watchmaker (horologist) this is only the third one I have seen and serviced. Hope you enjoy the images of the watch stripped down in various stages of repair. If you have any questions you would like please leave me a comment. I will be uploading a short video of the watch running. Jeff Brandt N.Z.H.I,A.W.I

16.01.2022 This is a Seiko from the 1990's I thought I'd share a true story about this model watch. In 2003 while working in my shop in Christchurch New Zealand I had a lady come in with the same model watch. She was not hopeful but very keen to see if it could be made to work again as it had been found on her deceased brother. He had died in a avalanche while climbing in the Swiss alps a good number of years earlier. I open the watch & replaced the battery & to the amazement of us both, it burst into life. What a great model. Cheers Jeff Brandt watchmaker

15.01.2022 Photo no: 4 is what's called the train of wheels left to right they are the centre, third, fourth, escape & then the pallet & balance wheel. Photo no: 3 is the mainn plate for the date. Photo no: 2 is the automatic winding mechanism. Photo no: 1 is the complete watch. I am going to fit the mainspring barrel, train & escapement. Then I'll post a short video of it running. I'll be back soon cheers Jeff

06.01.2022 This is a Rolex Explorer I had in for a overhaul & case polish last week. It came up nice & had a great trace on the timing machine afterwards. Cheers Jeff Brandt N.Z.H.I.,A.W.I. Horologist

04.01.2022 The gents rolex completed and running after shot.

03.01.2022 These are a few photos of a G's Zenith automatic watch from the 1970's. When it came in for a full Refurbishment, I was thrilled. The photos show the case refurb, & the movement striped for the Overhaul & the trace on the timing machine when completed. This is an emaziing trace given that the watch is approximately 40 / 45 years old & has been used extensively in that time. Hope you enjoy the post, cheers Jeff

02.01.2022 This is a lady's Rolex calibre 2030 that I gave a complete Overhaul to yesterday

02.01.2022 This is a short video of the watch running before the automatic is fitted
