24.01.2022 ~ Introducing Mr and Mrs Watton ~ I had the absolute honour yesterday of photographing the beginning of a beautiful marriage! Carlie and Jarvis, along with their beautiful daughters, their family and friends, tied the knot in an incredible ceremony, and danced the night away on a beautiful warm evening at Pilliga Pottery!... Here's a few little sneak peeks of the fun they had!! Didn't they both look AMAZING?! Thank you to Hayley of H2H Photos, the best sidekick photographer a girl could ask for! Bride’s make up: The Beauty Box Coonabarabran Bride’s hair: the talented Taneya

24.01.2022 In honour of my littlest love turning 20 months (we should all DEFINITELY have more than one birthday a year, full of cake, balloons and love, don’t you think?!), we hit the bush for a little photo shoot. Hands up if he’s not the cheekiest and cutest little bundle of swag you’ve ever seen?! Ok, so I’m biased, but in between keeping us on our toes with his penchant for finding trouble (and making it himself if there is none ), he lights up our lives with laughter and snuggles (and silent swear words from time to time ), and I’m so glad I can capture it forever in photos. Thanks to Honey & Heidi for the sweetest little boy (it’s actually unisex which is even better!) romper ever!!

22.01.2022 To my beautiful followers, Be warned, it’s a bit of an essay You might have noticed that it’s been a bit quiet here in Watch Me Bloom land. Photographing your beautiful families, babies and moments kept me incredibly busy in 2019 and so I intentionally took some time away to be with my own family and babies over the holidays. It’s been divine. ... Most of you will know that by day I am a Registered Nurse, and I hope all of you know that my absolute passion is Mums, motherhood and families, and supporting them throughout the wonderful, terrifying journey that is parenthood. That’s where my business name was inspired from - supporting women in the journey to, and through, motherhood, to thrive rather than survive and to bloom into the woman and Mamas they were meant to. And so it may not come as a surprise to you to hear that a long time dream of mine has also been to be a midwife!! And I’m excited and terrified to tell you that this year I get to realise that dream! I’m enrolled in the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery for 12 months and will be working in our beautiful local maternity unit, so I might see some of you!! It’s a very demanding and busy course though, and when combined with my own beautiful babies, it’s going to be a very big year here. So it’s with a lot of sadness that I have to tell you that I’ve decided to take a wee break from Watch Me Bloom to concentrate on my studies for 12 months. I need to practice what I preach and not try to do ALL the things on my own, at the same time! However, it’s not goodbye forever! I’ll still be doing a couple bits and pieces of photography along the way (so please feel free to get in contact and if I can fit you in, I definitely will!) and more importantly, I have some amazing plans to make use of my passions for motherhood and photography AND my newfound knowledge in midwifery for 2021!! So keep an eye on my page, (I’ll try to update it as I go!!) and I’ll be back bigger than ever and ready to empower, support and photograph the beautiful Mums, babies and families of Gunnedah next year!! Thank you so much for your support and love in the last 12 months since I launched, and I hope 2020 is the best year yet for all of us. All my love to you all

22.01.2022 The NSW Govt has summed up my whole business ethos in one meme

20.01.2022 Your baby looks most beautiful in your arms! There is nothing better than a baby nuzzling in to Mum, or peeking over Dad's shoulder. Or in this case, peeking out from Mum's arms I love love love lifestyle newborn sessions, because I'm slightly addicted to photographing the snuggles and love of those early days And tomorrow these images of snuggles and love are jetting off to their new home with Annita and Ian! Keep an eye on your inbox guys!

19.01.2022 Loving putting together the beautiful gallery of Kate and David Locke's family session last weekend. I especially love moments like this!!

17.01.2022 Hi all!! I just thought I’d pop by and give you my opinion on the latest trend in photography, the ‘Front Door/Steps/Porch Project’ or some version thereof. Essentially, it started in the US during their lockdown, and involved a photographer putting out feelers for families that might be interested in a family photo on their front porch, to document these times we are all living in at the moment. The photographer would arrive for the 5-10 minute session, stay 6 feet away wh...ile taking the photos, and deliver the images electronically when they were edited. Some photographers charged a nominal amount for this, some asked the family to donate to charity. Neat idea huh? No. No it’s not. We are all being asked to sacrifice right now. We are all being asked to take one for the team and model social responsibility to our kids, our neighbours and society. This means we #stayathome and today have a #StayAtHomeSunday. We don’t leave except for the essentials. We consider everyone has the virus and we act as though WE have the virus. Leaving our homes for the purposes of something unnecessary, namely family photography, in these times is irresponsible. It hurts me to say that photography isn’t necessary but at the moment, it’s true. Interacting with people unnecessarily is irresponsible. Regardless of how far away you intend to stay, things happen, kids run to you, habit takes over and you reach out for a hug, it goes on. So whilst I love the idea of documenting our own experiences of the pandemic, knowing many of these photos will be looked upon by generations to come as history (like we look at photos of nurses in the Spanish Flu), it needs to be documented by the people living it, not an outsider. We need to stay away from people, let the virus fizzle, and then we can all get back into the joys of your fave photographer documenting those delicious snuggles, newborn wrinkles and laughing toddlers. If you’re after ideas of how to document your #PandemicLife, see my previous post or feel free to message me and I’ll talk you through some ideas. It’s a great time to find and embrace your inner creativity, so get the kids on board and have some fun with it. Stay safe everyone. Stay at home. See you on the flip side. (iPhone photo below is my crazy circus crew using a mattress as a slide on the bunks. No bones were harmed in the making of this photo, thank god )

17.01.2022 I picked up the camera for the second time this year and it felt so wonderful

16.01.2022 Hi guys! I’m in Albury at the moment, winding down after my first day of uni, on the road to be a midwife! I’m mindlessly scrolling FB as you do, and happened across this from a wonderful local IBCLC and wished I’d seen it when I had my first bub almost 14 years ago (does that make me sound old?). Breastfeeding was such a minefield for me the first time around, because it’s a learned skill and neither bub nor I had learned it yet! I love a good visual to really help me understand what’s going on and this one really hits the spot I think. I hope it helps someone else out there reconcile in their own mind what’s going on when bub wants to feed for the eleven billionth time that day, or when they snooze on through an expected feed time. Happy feeding mamas.

15.01.2022 Merry Christmas everyone. That beautiful little face sums up the joy in our home today. I hope your home is abundant with joy and love today also. Erin xx

15.01.2022 ~ watch ~ this ~ space ~ I'm in deep with uni at the moment, learning and loving everything midwifery based, but struggling to be *all* in *everything*, which I'm sure the mamas amongst us understand. So I have given myself two days mental health leave. Not that I could afford to do that with my study/work load, but I was at a tipping point. And so I went back to my other most beloved pastimes, that bring me joy and soothe my soul; my babies and photography. Only this time,... I tried videography! And I AM IN LOVE! ALLL the feels. ALLL the emotion. ALLL the love. Preserved right there in real time. Oh my heart. So, I've decided to bring this to my families next year when I return! Think "A Day in the Life of Us" sessions, but with the laughter of your littles, the steam swirling from their hot Milo, their hair flying as they swing high, their eyes twinkling as they break into a smile and those sweet little voices that you'll forget as the years pass. That's what I'm thinking Stay safe in the meantime and stay tuned!! https://www.youtube.com/watch

13.01.2022 This delicious little munchkin fell asleep in his Mum Annita's outstretched arms, and then snuggled in for kisses. Just exquisite I'm so excited because I've just sent through their gallery of images to them! Is it time you booked a session to capture some family photos? Send me a message! I'd love to play memory keeper to the love and laughter that binds your family.

10.01.2022 Hands. They tell a story don't they? They're one of my favourite things to capture. Whether they're wrinkly newborn hands, with the long fingers of a pianist, or the hands of a little one holding onto those of his precious mama, or the hands of a Dad that works hard for his family because they're his everything. Hands tell our stories, and I photograph your stories, so hands are my jam

10.01.2022 I'm back from my trip to uni, and catching up on some sessions before I hit the ground running next week as I start my work as a student midwife. I just love love love this image of Kelly Mason and her littles. It sings of love, those quiet moments with your babies, the giggles, the snuggles, the everyday of motherhood that slip by us so quickly. It's moments like this that make me so determined to base my career in motherhood, in celebrating mothers, in showing them the beauty of their everyday - there is just no place else I'd rather be. So stay tuned, I'll be popping in to keep you updated xx

09.01.2022 This last week marked 12 months since I tentatively took my first steps into taking photos for strangers, into what would eventually become Watch Me Bloom, my very own little business where I could focus on and celebrate women and the amazing journey of motherhood. It’s been incredible to be surrounded by such support and belief in me, in my dreams and in my plans. I have a huge year coming up in 2020 (more on that soon!) and can’t wait to see what it brings. So to workin...g hard, to being surrounded by good people and to celebrating our fellow queens and sisters, supporting them as they rise. And the beautiful Kate Locke has a wonderful little link to her gallery waiting for her in her inbox to celebrate :)

09.01.2022 Are you stuck inside for the foreseeable future, can’t go to the park with the kids, trying to keep safe and healthy, far from the reaches of Covid-19? Use this time to document your life! Journal, draw, paint or photograph your feelings, your daily chores, the hum drum and the exciting. This is unprecedented for our generation, and will go down in history books (or internet pages more like!) so make sure you have a record to tell your story to your kids and grandkids in y...Continue reading

08.01.2022 I know you're not going to believe this, but this stunning mama is due to have her 4th beautiful baby soon! She asked me out to their new home a few weeks ago to take photos before they're once again in the thick of those newborn weeks, and we took a drive down to their feedlot so the boys could teach me all about it. They had a ball getting grubby, wrestling, climbing barb-wire fencing and running after the dogs, and I got to take pictures of a family that I love, in the relaxed, laid-back way that I love. What a beautiful way to end a day!! Thank you Nicola and Samuel!

08.01.2022 One of the important things for any business owner to know, deep in their heart, is why they do what they do. Why do you do it for yourself (run a business) and why do you do it for your clients? Know that, have a passion for it and it’s the start of a solid business plan. Anna Tenne is an amazing photographer, mentor and all-round human, and I’ve been fortunate enough to do some mentoring and training with her recently, and that’s been one of the biggest take home messages ...for me. Know my ‘why’. And this meme/quote here (which I can take no credit for!) sums up my ‘why’ better than my words can. It is absolutely why I do what I do. It’s why I picked up the camera and started taking photos of my own babies, and it’s why I stress the importance of Mums getting in the photos. This is my ‘why’. PS. Dr Seuss is HUGE in our house at the moment. It’s all we’re allowed to read the kids for their bedtime story. I have a love-hate relationship with him

06.01.2022 The joy of being given permission to tickle Mum

06.01.2022 This photo evokes so many emotions for me. Nostalgia, for the childhood memories I have of doing the same thing in summertime. Joy, for watching my babies enjoy life's simplest pleasures in the fresh air.... Satisfaction, for the beautiful life I am blessed with. Envy, if I'm honest, for the innocent way a child is able to be wholeheartedly in the moment. And a little anxiety, for the inevitable tantrum when I announce that it's time to go inside!! One photo. One subject. Five emotions. Memories that flow through generations. That's why I do this. For my kids, and for yours.

04.01.2022 Last Friday I was invited to photograph a very special Grand Opening! Kelly Mason, the brains and talent behind Spindle & Co., opened her incredibly beautiful new creative space, The Wheelhouse, to a wonderful crowd. They ate, they drank, and they looked on in awe at the styling! The studio is full of all kinds of beautiful yarn, and I have no doubt that means wool AND a good story and company! On a serious note, The Wheelhouse is an incredible space, whether you pop in to p...ick up supplies, head there for a workshop or just swing past for a chat. Beginners to weaving and all things yarn are welcome, so I'm off to treat myself to a world of colour and texture with the girls soon too! Never too old to learn new skills and I'm never too old for a cuppa and some friends. Pop in (Wednesdays and Fridays I think, but just check!) and say hi to Kelly :)

04.01.2022 Feathers, bubbles and some silliness, what else could you want for a family shoot?! Thanks for having me Kate and Dave!!

02.01.2022 This was such a fun session with a wonderful friend and her family. It's my last session for a while, while I spend my time watching as families are created and grown in the Birth Suite. So it's with a bittersweet tone that I let Kelly Mason know that she should have a lovely little email waiting for her in her inbox!
