25.01.2022 Today is #WorldChildrensDay We love to share happy stories with you, like this one of five-year-old Zaza drinking clean water outside their house in Manjaka village, Madagascar! However today it is important to remember that around 310,000 children under five die every year from diarrhoeal diseases caused by poor water and sanitation. That's over 800 children a day, or one child every two minutes. From lack of clean water and a decent toilet...in 2020. It is not acceptabl...e Today is about promoting international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children's welfare. 25.01.2022 Today is Remembrance Day. A total of 49,500 PNG war carriers were deployed to help Australian soldiers as they defended Port Moresby on the Kokoda track in 1942 during World War II. The Papuans had little reason to be loyal to Australian's at the time. Despite this, stories are told that many 'worked until they dropped,’ and that no living soldier was ever abandoned by the carriers, not even during heavy combat. Their compassion for the wounded and sick earned them the eternal gratitude of the Australian soldiers, who called them ‘Fuzzy Wuzzy Angels.' Instead, this year you can give a Christmas Gifts for Life card to stop the spread of disease and spread joy, happiness and hope instead! Best of all? You’ll help change the life of someone like Yenus, a charming 12-year-old boy who lives with his family in Frat, a remote, hilltop community in Ethiopia Yenus walks or rides his donkey every day to collect water for his family.
